What is the criteria that coaches use to decide playoff locations? What is home and home? i have heard several varying opinions.

first of all you can come to a mutual agreement on a place to play. If a mutual agreement cannot be made you can have a coin flip. Prior to the coin flip who have to designate where you would want to play IF you were to win the toss. You can choose any place, including your home stadium.

Here is the kicker. ....If you choose to flip home and home and if the teams meet again in the playoffs a second time in a 3 year period, the team who lost the toss the first time is automatically awarded the decision on where the game is played

AND, lots of times they don't really flip the coin, they call odd and even pages from the orange coaches' directory.

I've heard of coaches using the zip code thing... this way they don't have to actually meet for a coin toss... they do zip codes over the phone

In 1-4A there was a 3-way tie for a playoff spot. They did a coin flip to determine who goes. This link has the video of it: http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid86981829001?bctid=662249087001
