Welp, this is pretty much what I expected....I knew Nasser was sitting out but then I saw a starting DE on crutches when I got to the game and thought it might be worse.:doh: Anyway, too many players getting hurt on both sides with nothing really on the line and playoffs next week....but you really don't want to do the NFL thing and rest players at this level.

Also...Shipley is for real in case anyone is still wondering, and the QB is very accurate with his throws.

I have never seen this defense before. Wylie started with 1 man up front on almost every snap while all the starters were in. They stunted a lot so it was not like a 1 man rush but it was very strange to see

I've seen this before, but never for an entire game. The irony is that this would have worked much better with the players we had last year...but probably wouldn't be neccessary on every snap. I thought Sandifer did a good job preparing for this game with the players he had...and I'll leave it at that.;)

Well, if we are fortunate enough to meet you guys in the finals, we will have to do something different too. I thought Sandifers experience showed in this game. He's been around long enough to know that he was going to get beat. He used every technique that was out of the box to try to keep it close. I heard our QB say after the game that the one man defense scheme caught him by surprise and confused him at first.I think Wylie did us a favor by showing what a good coach can throw at you. Now I'm ready for that scoreboad shot! lol

I agree that Sandifer and Co did a great job with the players they had. This is not meant to disrespect Wylie they were just outmatched from bus to final score. They have a very smart coaching staff that knows how to maximize their players. This is why they succeed year in year out

When one of our kids took a very hard hit (blind-sided 20 yards behind the play on Jaxon's punt return TD) and the BWD player stood over him to taunt him, Bob ran out on the field, checked on our player and apologized to him for the "cheap shot" (his words). He also found his parents after the game and apologized to them...
Excellent coach, has a great team, but is not going to tolerate that kind of play.

Coach Shipley sounds like a quality guy. We need more leaders like him.

Shipley has raised the bar here in Brownwood in many areas. He is a likable guy and hold his players to a higher level. I'm sure thats why Jaxon is such a good kid.

He took ownership of the Snyder debacle when he didn't have to and what he did for that players parents shows top notch. Actually after that hit, he gathered all the brownwood players and gave them an earful.

Also the brownwood player that laid the hit, never re-entered the game, maybe unrelated because I also seen the training staff giving the brownwood player test to determine a concussion. Who knows
