I never played on turf so it is hard for me to make a comparison. The one thing I miss about the grass fields is the smell of a fresh cut football field. Which do you prefer?

Seems like the newer versions of artificial turf are yielding less ankle and knee injuries. Brownwood played in LLano on grass, I think, and had 4 starts come out with ankle issues.

probably not much to do with the grass ...but with their speed and running all up and down llano that night.

I played on both.. Turf by far for me. Rain isn't as much of a factor with turf and cuts just seemed better IMO

I won't say it never rains out here, but doesn't rain here nearly as much as other places.

From someone who works in that dept I much more prefer the turf. No mowing, watering, painting. Makes my days much easier.:D :D

Turf without a doubt. When I was a sophmore at Glen Rose was the first year we had turf. We also went 4 rounds deep that year, farthest Glen Rose has ever gone. We made history for our town. We did have a lot of talent, good leadership, and a 6'4'' 210 lb QB Derek Thompson who had a cannon attached to his arm, but we won and we all think it was the turf that got us there :) :)

FieldTurf for sure. It's not like the old days when they just rolled some carpet over asphalt. The turf from them days was like playing on concrete.
