LH vs Lampasas

LH inproves to 6-2 on the year and 3-0 in district with their home win over Llano. 31-24

This week the Panthers host the Lampasas Badgers 5-3 overall and 1-2 in district.

The Badgers pick up their 1st district this past Friday with a home win over the Salado (1-7, 0-3).


LH takes home field advantage and the momentum of a 3 game win streak and continue their winning ways.

This should be a fun game. I've not seen LH play yet but Coach Vance is a master at utilizing what talent he's got. Lamp has some good talent of it's own. Plus, they play nasty....Their RB's are horses...especially that #20..he's a load...I think mistakes will play a key role in this one. For that, I'd have to guess LH will be a bit more disciplined and pull this win off. Not sure what kinda score though.

I thought LH was fortunate to beat Llano. I don't think that there is much difference between LH, Llano and Lampasas so turnovers will be the difference. I say Panthers by 7, 28-21.

this is Lampasas vs LH not how many times B'wood could have scored on Llano. I guess though if Llano is that bad and they beat Lampasas and LH beat Llano then maybe the panthers have a chance to beat Lampasas.

LH doesn't need a slow start like they did against Llano. They need to play like they didn't in the last part of the 2nd quarter and the 2nd half.

Hey LH_Tuff, I think your game tonight determines whether Burnet ends up in D1 or D2. (assuming Burnet wins one more game and makes the playoffs). Anyway, isn't tonight's game a must-win for Lamp? My guess is LH will win tonight knocking Lamp out completely, then we have LH, Llano, and Burnet going to playoffs.

If Lamp gets knocked out, then Burnet will be D1 rep with LH and Llano GOING D2. Thats the way I see it.

I'm pretty sure the playoff field is set for District 25 now. Burnet, LH and Llano are in, with Burnet being the "big school."

As far as I can tell, Llano "backed in" to the third playoff spot despite their loss to Burnet tonight, on the basis of LH beating Lampasas and Taylor beating Salado.

Llano would be alone in third at 3-2 in district if they beat Salado. If the Eagles upset the Jackets, Llano would be 2-3 but would be in a third place tie with either Lampasas or Taylor (which are both 1-3 and play each other next Friday) -- and Llano has the head-to-head tiebreaker over both of them.

Les goad. Came with vance from san marcos to lh as oc. They go way back and know each other well. Goad left after 1 year at lh leaving oc duties to walker. Should be a good battle of old "friends"
