Another tough game for Ingleside. If they can muster a performance like they had against Mathis, I like their chances. The freshman QB looked really good throwing the ball and even running. Marquis (RB) has been running hard for a soph. and from his physical stature you wouldn't think he would be hard to bring down, but it has been the opposite.

I expect Rockport-Fulton to be physical up the middle and try to wear down Ingleside’s defense. Does anyone know if Rockport has a passing game?

on some sweet passes in the Robstown game a few weeks back. Why the change?

Ingleside qb can keep playing like he did, Ingleside passing game with be a tough challenge for Rockport but i dont think Rokcport will make it that easy like Mathis did.

Hope the Green Pirates win, but it is played on the field. Would be very disappointing year if they do not reach the playoffs after dropping from 4a.

Actually it doesn't have anything to do with underestimating Rockport. I already know that most would still pick Rockport to win... so what is the point?

I'm not sure this is true but it is what I heard. Johnathan McHugh (#11) was moved to receiver for the Mathis game. His twin brother Matt McHugh (#33) is normally the go to receiver. I was told that for the Mathis game Coach Hesseltine switched their numbers. Mathis was double teaming the wrong McHugh. I didn;t catch it but it is very hard to tell them apart. :D

I re-read the article on this on caller.com and it did say David McHugh swapped jerseys with his twin brother Matt.

Like i said in an earlier thread, the freshman QB is good. Yes, he is young, but he is good. He is smart, quick and has the football savy. The most notable thing you will notice about him or his brother is they are very humble and darn good young men. They are grounded, good family up bringing. I will not under estimate Rockport but, I have to go with my Mustangs. :cool: :D

I think Ingleside will win a close one. RF has had some injuries and that is a big factor. RF has to win or they or out of the playoffs for sure. We will see. This should be a good game.

If R-F loses to Ingleside then they have to beat Mathis the next week to be in the playoffs. That is making the assumption that Sinton beats Mathis and that is probably going to happen.

Ingleside can clinch with a win this week with a win and they are in with the wins over Mathis and Rockport, a loss by Ingleside then they will need Rockport to beat Mathis and in that scenario Ingleside win over Mathis get them in a tie breaker. if all 3 finish tied then it goes to power points.

i wasnt impressed with their secondary's speed. when Mounts let carson air it out, they couldn't hang and we scored quickly.

If Ingleside's passing game is on then R-F is going to have a hard time then. We do have some speed and will match up with anybody on the "jump ball".

McHugh might be the QB this week. Who knows? Coach Hesseltine is very good at coming up with surprises. If Ingleside plays the "hurry up" that would be a first this year.

If I was a bettin' man, which I am, only when my wife let's me. I would bet that the freshman QB will start. Why not? Why mess up a good thing? You gotta give credit to the offensive line and the job they did for him. Lets not forget the D-line and give them some credit. It will be a good game. I am pulling for Mathis to play spoiler, this would be great. I do not mean any disrespect to Sinton, I know several of their players and they are good young men. I am only saying, lets mix it up and have some fun. Mathis has to pull out all the stops or they will lose, enough about them. Let's GO MUSTANGS!!!!:D :D

They don't huddle but it seems like it takes forever for the plays to be called from the sidelines. It's not hurry up to me. Maybe I'm getting too impatient in my old age.:D

It is no secret, all offensive players wear arm bands with all the plays. They signal in a number or tell them and they get ready to go. Excellent idea, as long as they hear or all get the signal correct. The Mustangs will be ready, they are looking pretty good. 7:30pm can't come soon enough, make sure to bring a sweater or coat with you. GO MUSTANGS!!

Congratulations Mustangs on making it to the playoffs for the 7th consecutive season. Throughout this year many people (and at times including me) felt that this young team would not even make the playoffs because of the level of competition in our district. Hats off to the Mustangs for proving everyone wrong.

Ingleside may have started to jell at the right time. They had two turnovers last night against Rockport that could have allowed Rockport to take the lead, but the defense really stepped it up and made the stops when necessary. I can’t say enough on how well Marquis Barrolle (soph. RB) has been running the ball and how tough he is to bring down. I talked to someone at the game who said that Marquis was able to squat close to 400 lbs. If that is true, that would probably explain how he is able to keep going hit after hit by the defenders. The freshman QB Tristen Barajas has improved greatly from the beginning of the season and has not lost any games as a starter. The McHugh twins have been a force on the offense and defensive side of the ball as well.

Rockport played a good game and their QB Stratton Williams was a heck of an athlete. It was impressive to see the Rockport players on the sideline chanting “DEFENSE” in support of their fellow players. They really were a classy bunch of players.
