What, in your opinion, is the worst district in the state for 3A?

Nobody really knows ALL the districts... but there is a rather large drop-off in competition in 10-3A after Celina, and there's only 5 teams.

Tell you what 11-3a is pretty dang weak this year. You have Lovejoy then the it falls off from there.

LOL no, but Mesquite High might have a chance at the playoffs in 3A. I'm a fan of all MISD teams, not just Mesquite.

And I have to agree about District 11. Lovejoy has outscored their last three opponents 157-21 and Prosper and Lovejoy outscored their opponents last week (Nevada Community and Frisco Lone Star, respectively) by a combined 128-0.

That's because they are good! They beat us 28 - 0!:D

Wylie seems to be rolling along now though! Is there any other big competition for you guys in D1 Region I in the playoffs? I'm thinking there could be a rematch in the State Semifinal

I think Wylie beats Graham this time around if Graham goes DI

Lubbock Estacado, Borger, Clint Mountain View, Andrews, Graham, Mineral Wells, Alvarado.

I think Graham is a better team in the larger school Div Reg 1. We would have to beat them to get there. And I don't know if we could beat Estacado twice. Only time will tell. We still had 6 kids hurt vs Big Spring game, and we had 8 kids hurt vs Sweetwater game. We have also been playing with three kids that are not 100%. If we can get most of those kids back to 100%, we might make a run for it. It's high school football, so you never know what can happen.

Since 2005

2009 Abilene Wylie and 2005 Gainesville(were they region I or II?) are the only region I teams to make it to the state finals.

I was going to go to 2000 but I couldn't remember who was region I at the time and didn't want to be incorrect in my statements. As I have said multiple times throughout the history of this website that Abilene Wylie is the only reason Region I is good on a state wide level.

22-3a

There are 3 teams with 1 win and another with only 2....heck only 2 of the teams in the district have winning records, the 3rd team is 4-4 with one of their losses to a middle of the road 2a school...ever since Barber's Hill went 4a and Liberty nose dived shortly after 22-3a has been consistantly one of the worst districts in the state....last year was a little better with Cleveland having a good year and making the district title a 3 team race but this year they have fallen back off the cliff and are at 1-7...Huffman and Coldspring are all alone at the top and the rest aren't really even close...

There are some weaker teams in region 1 but no more than any other region...and the top teams (Wylie, Brownwood, Snyder, Monahans, Graham) are competitive with top teams in 2,3 and 4.

I will give you Monohans though....Brownwood is having a good year this year but it is TBD how they will do once it comes time for the wins to count.

Last year they held Wylie's prolific offense to 17 points...lower than any team we met in the playoffs including Gilmer. Also, I'd like to point out that Wylie is the only team in our district that has never been 4A.:D

Careful Garciap77, a bunch of 'em gave me heck saying we were
just overrated. We lost to Argyle with 7 starters on the sideline. We lost that game by 3 points, look how everybody else has fared against
Argyle. We finally have Means healthy and we're using our 2QB set
now. We've really started rolling. In the last 2 games our -3rd teamers
we in, in the 2nd Qtr. I'm very happy AW is doing well now!:)

:iagree: Argyle is tough but a healthy Lovejoy team in that game probably beats them. I will admit though that Argyle has a very solid running back corp with Lowry and Chrestopoulos (sp?) and a good defense and they could go deep in D2.

10-3A is better than I thought it would be. Of course, Celina makes everyone else in the district look bad.

But VA didn't drop off as much as I thought they might, with the McKinney transfer at QB. Commerce is much-improved with a couple of outstanding athletes, and also Anna and Bonham have gotten better and play great defense. The last two have serious issues on offense, unfortunately.

Argyle should handle Commerce in the first round, but VA vs. Gainesville should be a whale of a game. Sanger vs. Celina will be a track meet.
