Your opinion is your opinion and I respect that, but Navasota did just beat Caldwell by 14 last night. I didn't know if you were aware since there wasn't a lot of chatter about it today. Other than that, we're just about the same.

Close Navscanmaster, but I'd put Giddings in there at #9 and drop Lorena out to #11.

i have a feeling we are underestimating lorena a second year in a row....

also, inspite of their big loss to wo-s, wos87 said they were a really dangerous team....

Just my thought. I wasn't at the game but herd a lot of poor mistakes where made I think Navasota is a good team. Where they better friday yes. Hints the scoreboard but I like Caldwell's chances take it with a grain of salt, or dont read my post. ;)

You can't always believe what you hear. Caldwell is good, but Navasota is and was better. Now, how about those apples!? Good teams tend to make you do things that are uncharacteristic or as you call it, "poor mistakes." As a matter of fact, Navasota got to the one yard line right before the half and fail to score. Did you hear that? Lets see, that would have made the score 40 or 41...then, Navasota was driving again to close out the game...lets see 46 or 48 points...

I haven't taken anything away from Caldwell all year, but, at least give credit when credit is due. Especially when you were not even in attendance.

The Hornets are always tough and they will do just fine. But, as someone pointed out, Navasota beat them fair and square. No mud, rain, or cold. Take it like a man and move on. There are still two more games that will not be easy for the Rattlers or Hornets.

To all the other Hornet fans out there, you have a fine team and you will do well. Good luck!

You are right. I saw both teams and from what I saw Navasota just has a touch more overall. Caldwell is just as talented and good as last year but I think Navasota has taken the next step this year.

Never did I mention Caldwell being better than Navasota! I put Caldwell in-front of Navasota due to records.(IMO Navasota l from a 2a power house and a tough Rudder team) Not out of the lose friday. I have gave them their credit. If Navasota blows out the rest of the district play then I will revise my picks in the following week. Till then im picking Caldwell!

I imagine if Caldwell had played Rudder or Cameron this year if they would have been undefeated. I tell ya, Cameron is the real deal this year. Overall, I think Cameron is the best that Navasota has faced all year.

Im sorry but are you saying Caldwell would have lost to the two teams? An much agreed on Cameron and their improvements over the past couple of seasons.

No, the only one way to find that out is to play the game. And, Cameron is the best team, IMO, that Navasota has faced. Nothing more or less. Anyways, this thread is being hijaked. Good Luck to your Hornets!

naa it is cool I can just avoid it when I get the results lol. Navasota... is the toughest team we have played this year. I look forward to seeing what happens in the game with Giddings.

Ranking HS teams is hard at best.:helpme: Without seeing the other teams play makes it even harder and then throw in that teams don't play each other much during the season makes it almost impossible to rank them. But seeing as most have put Navasota and Caldwell in the top 10 in Region III and I saw the game Friday here goes nothing.

The Rattlers were and are a better team than Caldwell but I would only rank them 9 or 10 out of 10. Navasota may make it to the second round this year which is very good for a team that is as small as they are. I think Navasota is blessed with very good coaching and kids willing to do everything that it takes.

"JMO." Which means nothing.

I'll take that. I agree 75%; However, I do believe that if we can get by Sealy in the first round, we will have a shot of going 3 or 4 rounds.

UPanIN, when you say Navasota is small are you talking size of the kids or size of school, because they are the largest school in dist.

size of kids. School has always been D1 in district (if they made the playoffs) since around 2003 when they dropped down from 4A.

I agree with HEMOTOXIC, I think if the Rattlers get by Sealy in the first round this year, they will go three or four rounds deep in D1. Chapel Hill appears to be the best D1 competition in Region III after Sealy, and they would be round three. But.............Smithville is the most important thing to think about right now if you are a Rattler.
