Sinton defense not giving up any big runs to the runningbacks. QB on 4th and 1 broke one for a td for Mathis. This game got intense late in the 2nd qtr between players and coaches. Sinton receives in the 2nd half

Sinton had the ball 4 times in the first half and scored on all of them. Had the ball once in 3rd qtr and with a 3rd and 1 Mathis did a run blitz up the middle and knock Cave for a loss on qb draw up the middle. Sinton had the ball again in the 4th qtr and pick up a first down and then on 3rd and 9 Cave got sacked before he could get rid of it to an open receiver.. The other time they received the ball was the 2 yd line after the stop on defense with 2 secs left. So only 7 times with the ball with the last one being a kneel down so credit goes to Mathis keeping the ball away from Sinton offense with the onsides and the long consuming drives.


Mathis coaching and players step it up in the second half and battled to the end. Great game just as good as last year!!!

Two possessions in the entire second half does not equal conservative play. Three onside kicks and otwo Sinton punts equals five extra possessions for Mathis. They outgained us in every stat and still lost.

Carson Cave had only 4 passing attempts with 3 completions for 66 yds. Sinton with 4 possessions in the first half and all touchdowns and 3 possessions in the second half with the last one being a kneel down so just 2 times with the ball and Mathis came up with big time stops on 3rd down to force Sinton to punt twice. Add that up with their 3-4 yds per offensive play and they were able to chew up the clock and keep our offense on the sideline.

Don't know which game you were watching. The game I watched was played pretty cleanly considering. All this trash you're talking about was started by a certain #10 and his two late hits. This was an emotionally charged game, and kids will talk trash. The coaches and refs took care of it and it was squashed. They both got well deserved personal fouls, one of them should have been ejected for throwing a punch.

I was refering to the talk that happend on the Sinton side of the field. It was more Taunting then just trash talk. The refs caught the stuff that happened on the Mathis side. And YES the Sinton Flag crew should NOT have run around like that after the game. That was mentioned more then once on the way home.

It was a good game and like I said earlier. Mathis penalties lost this game and the Sinton D stood their ground when the clock ticked down.

All I can say is that that was the best I have seen mathis all year...the defense took a licking but kept on ticking and the air game by mathis looked promising considering that was probably the most they have passed all year.. and well the running game is always really good..I was suprised it came down to the wire..what a game... keep your head up guys you'll rock

I started laughing at my wife with about 4 min left on the game clock. She looked at me and said. "I can hardly watch this, I am about to have a heart attach."
This from a woman that has NO clue what a first down is or anything. She never watches football at home. We go to every Sinton game and have for the last 10 years or so. One of our sons is in the band now and that gives us even more reason to go watch the games.

Yes it was a fantastic game. But as I recall last years game was just as good.

And the Mathis BMW can roll.....if they would throw the ball a little more they would be unstopable.

A quicker release by the QB would have resulted in a score. He waited too long to throw it, causing Washington to come up to the ball when his route had him inside the goal line, and by that point the defender was all over him. Just what happens when you're not used to throwing the ball, I guess.

Truly a great game by two good football teams. I couldn't tell about the TE but as you said it seemed like the QB had decided where he was going to throw from the beginning. Perhaps that is why the TE was so open because the players sensed he was going to pass to the receiver who caught the ball.
