We watched SW play AW. Their Qb was good. I was more impressed with # 54 on their defense. I think SW has improved since last year, but I believe the Tigers will win this.

I havn't seen SW play, but after talking to a SW native about the team, Snyder wins this one easy. Sounds like the can't seem to punch it in when they need to.

For good argument, if Snyder turns it over 6 times, SW may find a way to keep it close.

Big Spring beat SW pretty good. Bwd demolished BS. Snyder much more studly and explosive. They hung within striking distance to the half with Bwd.

Snyder bounces back this week and takes the frustration out on the Mustangs. Poor ponies. Snyder has to many weapons. Some might think it's all Ward, but this offense is explosive. Brownwood slowed them down a bit last week, forced them to have sustained drives, however the turn overs hurt us. Not this week.

Honestly I hate to admit it but with Sweetwater graduating so many senior players a couple of years ago, it won't surprise me if "that other team" takes the win...but if you ever tell anyone I said that, I will totally deny it!! I think we will have a much better team next year..
I had such a hard time sitting on the home side at the Greenwood freshman game against Sweetwater and not shout GO RED!! Any other games don't bother me at all.....LOL Just gotta do what a Nana's gotta do!! :D

For the second straight week, Sweetwater is facing a opponent this Friday that, like the Mustangs, has yet to claim a district victory and is in a must-win situation.
Another similarity is that Snyder — which will visit Mustang Bowl at 7:30 p.m. in Sweetwater’s final home game of the 2010 season — is, like Big Spring a week earlier, coming off a humbling defeat to Brownwood.
Sweetwater (0-2 in district, 4-4 overall) must knock off Snyder (0-1, 5-2) this week to realistically keep its postseason hopes alive. The Mustangs end their year by going to Brownwood (2-0), which has outscored the Steers and Tigers 117-41 and is ranked No. 1 in the state in Class 3A.
The Lions have drawn an open date this week. Friday’s other game in District 5-3A sends Big Spring (1-1) to second-place Wylie (1-0).
Sweetwater wants to con-tinue the improvement it showed against Wylie and Big Spring, which won by a combined 95-7 score in 2009. This year, while still outscored 57-23 by the Bulldogs and Steers over the last two weeks, the Mustangs were much more competitive. And they hope to continue that trend when they take the field again to face their Scurry County rivals. Snyder, though, may be looking to take some anger out after a 61-20 loss in their district opener this past weekend.
Sweetwater’s last game with Snyder also took place at the Bowl a year ago, and the Mustangs would like to avenge the lopsided 52-0 defeat to the Tigers. The margin of victory was the largest ever for either team in the rivalry that dates back to 1925. However, Sweet-water leads 36-23-1 in the teams’ all-time series and won 14-7 two years ago, and a victory on Friday would be by far the biggest in Craig Slaughter’s two years as the Mustangs’ coach. To win, Sweetwater must contain star quarterback Keenon Ward, who in the Tigers’ first seven games has accounted for a total of 2,025 yards — 1,450 of it through the air and 575 on the ground.
Sweetwater is led by quarterback Taylor Jones and running back B.J. Walker, who each have 533 yards rushing. Jones has also completed 65 of 130 passes this season for 894 yards, with 237 coming in district play. Last week, Walker ran for 56 yards and scored twice against Big Spring.
Although last week’s game against Brownwood turned into a blowout in the second half, Snyder kept the game reasonable for three quarters until the Lions ran away late with 27 fourth-quarter points.
And Ward still put up good numbers — 13-of-26 passing for 227 yards, 98 yards rushing — despite his team’s lopsided defeat.
Prior to last week’s game with Brownwood, Snyder had won five straight games and the Tigers scored over 50 points in four of them.

Very nice showing from the Tiger defense. Offense seemed a bit conservative compared to what we're used to seeing, but over all played very well. The special teams needs to understand what a block in the back is. That hurt us tonight. Looking forward to next week.

I listened to the sweetwater broadcast of the second half and I have to give props to those guys. Very good and well spoken. They don't crack on the other team and keep things in perspective. Nice job.
