Brownwood's D seemed to get better as half progressed. Snyder has big play ability on every snap. I like where we sit getting kickoff to start the 3rd Q. We never doubted Snyder's talent, just know we have a little game ourselves :)

I don't know about that. Snyder seems like a very solid football team. Mistakes have killed them this half. They need to amp up in the second half and make some breaks for themselves. 15 points is a lot to overcome. I don't see it happening unless the breaks go their way.

Good win for the Lions, I hope to see this team play in the playoffs. Hopefuuly we will play on a Friday some where and Brownwood plays on a Saturday. I will drive to see this team. I live in Tatum and support them, but I played ball for Carthage back in the mid Seventies. I would love for Carthage and Brownwood to meet up in the playoffs. Nothing like watching a very good football team when they play another good team.

Congrats to Brownwood. Although I wish they were in another district ;) , I really did enjoy watching this group of young men play. They are one of those groups that don't come around very often. There is a tremendous amount of talent on that team. I still think they can be beaten...but I wouldn't ever bet against them.

Snyder.... I was expecting them to be good and I was not disappointed in the least. If Ward had played Qb against Wylie last year, there's no way we woulda shut them out. That kid has got "it"!

Congrats to Brownwood on the win. They are the real deal. I knew it would take a mistake free game from the Tigers to have a shot, but it sure wasn't mistake free. On the contrary, Brownwood played near perfect. Impressive team. Maybe we will meet again in the playoffs. Snyder had some unfortunate breaks in this one, 6 turnovers. Two interceptions off of receivers hands and a couple of fumbles that shouldn't have occurred. ahh well....time to start concentrating on next week.

I do think that every kid deserves display his or her talents. But in saying that Brownwood had already been flagged once this year for delay of game for there team not being on the field when halftime festivities went over the allotted time. I assume they didnt want to receive another delay of game in this game as well. Halftime had expired and they were told to take the field. Im sure there was no disrespect intended to the Snyder band. It was bad planning all around. I know Coach Shipley and I guarantee that he intended no disrespect. Snyder has a great football team, Ward and the Safety number 12 are phenomenal players. Snyder played hard all night. Good luck to Snyder the rest of the way.

It was a great atmosphere and I got to meet Jordan Shipley and took a picture with him so Snyder getting stomped didn't even matter ha ha but congratulations to the Brownwood lions, very very classy team and fans! Very impressed!

Snyder has a good team and has talent on both sides of the ball. I'm not sure there will be a team in our region that will beat them. Monahans will have a hard time beating them twice. I've seen teams that rely too much on the QB for big plays. When they face a team with speed on defense, it usually ends up like last night. I'm not taking anything away from Ward, he is AWESOME. very elusive and dangerous, but it's hard to keep it up for 4 Qtrs. 8 on 1 is not good odds.

No quality wins = no love in the polls. If you don't start out in the Top 10, it's hard to make it in after losing to a team that isn't ranked the first game of the season. And after getting dismantled by the #1, it's just unlikely from here on out.

Snyder is the best unranked team in the state. No doubt about it.

That hit was on Longoria. It was huge. Longoria walked off the field, shook the cob webs and came back and had a great game. He saved 2 touchdowns that I know of. He is a monstor and extremely tough. I though he was going to be out from a concussion.

Yea it is on a wireless remote, but it did sound a couple of times for no apparent reason. Snyder is one of the dirtiest teams I have ever seen play. Maybe it was just this game, but they were pathetic. I can't believe the refs let half of that stuff go on. I would like to say "good luck" the rest of the way, but honestly, I hope Snyder looses the rest of their games. And no, I don't want to see this team in the playoffs, because when we start to pull away again, here will come all of the bull$$it again, no thanks. This team is better than Snyder and that's that. There wasn't any disrespect aimed at Snyder. We (Brownwood) did that to Fort Worth All Saints two weeks prior, and did it to our own school district's halftime presentation a few weeks before that in our own stadium.

Probably should clarify here that the flag wasn't due to the band...it was due to the extra homecoming festivities - crowning the queen and all that. And IMO it seemed odd they'd throw a flag anyway, pretty sure last year halftime at homecoming went long and no one cared.

Regardless - I know that's neither here nor there - but I don't necessarily agree how it's being handled...especially when it doesn't represent Brownwood well when we're guests of other cities.

I've been biting my tongue not to post something similar to this. I know now why folks from Wylie, Sweetwater, and Monahans dislike Snyder. I really felt like we were watching Stephenville last night.... although Stephenville was a lot cleaner this year than Snyder.

I also hope we can get Monahans or someone else in the playoffs if we are fortunate to make it that far. I can see injuries coming in a rematch.

No doubt. I remember when I was in the band about 10 years or so ago they made us stay on the field when they did the crownings and whatnot. Someone always invariably locked their knees and fainted.

Part of the problem with halftimes is that there is no "director", so to speak. No one oversees a halftime schedule and no one really communicates with each other on how long they will be. Better coordination overall probably would help those issues.

Trust me, the way that RB was raised he wouldn't kick someone unless it was warranted. The guy wouldn't let go of his ankle and was twisting it. Kind of like when your OL (I'm not going to say his number) was standing over with his hands on our DL who was on his back keeping him from getting up well after the play was over. Our DL finally threw a few punches because the guy wouldn't let him up. This OL is also the same guy who lost his helmet on a play and then ran around like a maniac cuz he was proud he lost his helmet.

And as I stated last night and not one person from Snyder made a reply to it.... the Snyder band has no more class than the football team. The Snyder band was telling the girls in the Brownwood band 'what they wanted to do to them' and it was very vulgar.

Oh and don't forget Snyder's trashing of the locker room at Grande Communication Stadium a few years back.

Listen up because I'm going to say something positive about Snyder fans, and most of you know that I almost never do that. ;) I was impressed that the vast majority of them stayed in the stands and supported their team well after Brownwood started running away with the game. Yes, there were some who left early, but a lot of fans from other teams (sadly Wylie is included in those) would have had all but the parents and students clearing the stands in the third quarter. I hate that!! :mad:

I will also say that DaHop was a fabulous host and the people around us were very friendly and courteous. :clap:

I heard these reports from the girls in the Brownwood colorguard themselves. I was pretty appalled. They're lucky I wasn't at the game this week (I'm usually on the sidelines at halftime) or that nonsense would have been marched straight to their security folks.

Now I know that we're talking about teenage boys here so it's probably not representative of Snyder's band as a whole. But their director has got to put a stop to that crap in a hurry. I know ours would light some kids up quick if he heard about that kind of stuff coming from our band members.
