Just saw this on another site.

Prayer are need for Adam Smith (#53) a Soph. at Archer City HS. He collasped during practice Tuesday. Doctors said he has had a stroke on both sides of the brain. Currently he in critical condition at Cook's Children Hospital in Ft Worth. His dad is the AD/HC at Archer City.

"Adam Smith is in stable but critical condition.
Tonight’s football game between Archer City and Windthorst will be played with heavy hearts on both sidelines.
Archer City football player Adam Smith, oldest son of head coach Steve Smith, collapsed Tuesday during practice and is in stable but critical condition at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth.
Doctors determined Adam Smith suffered a stroke. He was transported from Wichita Falls to Fort Worth on Wednesday and doctors have said the next couple days are critical to Adam’s recovery.
“They’re trying to reduce the amount of swelling in the brain and see if there are any other clots,” Archer City principal Vance Morris said. “He’s not out of the woods yet, but he’s at the best place he could be.”
Morris said the Smith family — Steve and Regina have four sons — has asked for people to keep Adam in their thoughts and prayers. Those wishing to show support can do so at carepages.com/carepages/PrayForAdam.
“We need all the prayers we can get,” Steve Smith said in a text message.
Adam Smith, 16, plays center and defensive tackle on the Wildcats’ junior varsity team, although the sophomore took some varsity snaps last week because Perrin-Whitt didn’t field a JV Ram.
Thursday night’s junior varsity game against Windthorst was postponed, but tonight’s varsity game will be played, although on a somber note.
“This puts things into perspective,” Morris said. “It’s a rivalry game, but it’s just a game.”
Windthorst and Archer City are tight-knit communities separated by only 11 miles of highway, and Morris said he has received plenty of well wishes from the neighboring town.
Trojans coach Bill Green is friends with Steve Smith. Green coached his three sons on the football field, and he said the news about Adam hit him on a personal level.
“I told one of my classes today that this is real close to me and it’s bothering me. I want to be there with Steve,” Green said. “I can’t imagine what they’re going through.”
Archer City defensive coordinator Dusty Robinson said the coaching staff is approaching the game as if Steve Smith won’t be on the sidelines tonight.
He said Adam’s collapse came from out of the blue. Adam dropped to one knee while standing in line during a warm-up drill right before Tuesday’s practice began.
“It was the scariest thing I’ve been a part of in a long time,” Robinson said. “It was almost like he was looking through us.”
While practices have been a little somber the past couple of days, Robinson said the players have remained focused and have handled everything well."
