Who wins and why?

I think they pull it off with another clinch job from Lee and the offense.

This is what Cliff Lee was brought here for.

I'll never forget the feeling I had and the atmosphere in Game 3 when Kinsler hit the go-ahead home run. I can't fathom it all coming to an end so soon.

I am pulling hard for the Rangers but at some point the odds catch up to a team. The odds are very slim that even with Cliff Lee the Rangers could win 3 straight in Tampa Bay. No, I think the Rangers dropped the ball in Arlington and missed their chance. Also to be considered, they effectively prevented themselves from bringing out Lee in the first game against the Yankees by letting the Rays even this series. Now even if they win tonight they will have to start CJ in the 1st game of the Yanks series which greatly increases the odds that they will have to come from behind to win it. Not getting the sweep or ending the first round in Texas will prove to be huge. Just my opinion and I hope I am wrong.

Cliff and Halladay are the two biggest big game pitchers in baseball.

This matchup favors the rangers. Lee is great and Price is a fastball pitcher. The rangers are a fastball hitting team.

I thought that the off day last Friday would hurt the Ranger bats, and it ended up happening. Hopefully the off day yesterday will get them going again.

And I think that if the Rangers do win tonight, that CJ can and will hold his own against the Yankees.

I read a report yesteday that compared the Ranger batting avg during day games compared to night games. Apparently the team bats over 100 point better at night than the day. edit I found the report and I over exagerated this by a long shot ;)

They claimed the big part of this is the shadows and heat of Arlington. Both games we loss were day games and both games we won were in a dome with lighting equal to a night game.

I don't know if this means anything but the game is 7:00 p.m. so maybe this is in the Rangers favor. Plus they seem to amp up a bit better when Lee and CJ are on the mound.

I think the Rangers pull this out because Lee throws nearly perfect and late in the game.

I'm not so sure.

The Yankees have a mental thing over Minn.

Cliff Lee owned the Yankees last year in the WS. It sure seemed like they dominated Minn, but if you look over the numbers, the Yankees pitching beyond CC, has been very average.

I too dont' think your 100% correct here. I actually believe the Rangers will beat the Rays because they are a better team. I think they will beat the Yankees, because of heart and effort.

Something to be said for fighting back after getting drummed by the yank for the past few years.

It all depends on the RANGERS bats. If there offense can get going they should be fine. I see the RANGERS scoring 3 or 4 runs tonight. Hopefully Cliff Lee will hold the rays under 2 runs.

Ugly runs are what win and lose championships in baseball. The pretty runs may get you there, but the runs that teams fight, scratch, and claw for in the playoffs are the ones that decide championships.

Anyway, on a serious note, I can't be the only long suffering Ranger fan that have a couple of tears of joy watching the Rangers advance in the playoffs. Man that feels good to say!!!
