There already was a poll for this game (http://bbs.3adownlow.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=107641). Can it be merged with the new one?

I'd love to see this match-up. Had a lot of fun the last time I attended a Giddings/Caldwell game :D

Had Giddings played WOS they would likely have 3 losses already. Just seems this will likely be a smooth win for Caldwell.

Scouting smithville o-tactics will help yield possible victory. Hornets nest is stirred up... be careful Buffs! O-fence is gonna have to get better to beat Caldwell. Hornets by 21.

This game is going to be interesting to watch unfold. Should be over in about an hour and a half:D

Turnovers will be key in this game, mainly b/c the game will go by so fast you only get so many chances with the ball. Can't waste them. Giddings will need to cut out a couple fumbles from our game average.

Good luck Buffs-Hornets are tough. May want to call Home of the Fighting Smithville Tigers for advise. Tigers mixed up the run and the pass and played smart(no penalties or fumbles). Should be a good 1st Q then swarm of stingers will prevail! Hornets by 21.

Is there any good Mexican food places that our Caldwell peeps can recommend? Mainly interested in a Margarita (or two).

Two in Caldwell, both on 36 towards Brehnam. MasFajitas, right across 36 from Sonic, and LaBamba, about a mile past Sonic on the right. Personally, I like the food at MasF better, but the drinks at LaB are great, and more variety, they have a bar in the back of the restaurant.

I'm guessing most of the fans from Caldwell and Giddings are staying pretty tight lipped for a couple of reasons.

1)Most don't like taste or smell of crow.

2)Most know what a slobberknocker of a game is coming on Friday.

I sure hope no players get hurt. Amen.

This reminds me of the 93 game. Caldwell was undefeated and ranked 7th, Giddings came in the game 3-2, with a couple of close loses. Caldwell had been blowing everyone out with the running game and Mike Stone. It took a 60 yrd td pass in the last 2 minutes to seal the victory for the buffs and the start of an undefeated district run with a district title. It was even homecoming which sweeten the victory even more. This use to be one of the most hated rivalries around. I say BRING BACK THE HATE!!

If the buffs fumble 3< buffs 28 caldwell 21
Buffs funble3> caldwell 35 buffs 28.

Got to hold on to the rock.

Mike Stone got his helmet locked up with a sophmore line backer that game that met him in the hole like a senior line backer. It was quite a collision at the line of scrimmage. Fun game if you were from Giddings.

What a great weather day for friday night football!

Still no smack talk. Guarded mutual respect.

I know our D coaching knows how to stop/slow down the slot-T, question is, have they been able to do a vulcan mind meld and pass on the knowledge to our D???

I'm expecting standing room only crowd. Hope it happens.

I remember the smack talking for the '07 game on here, and yes, I was one of the talkers. My son was a senior DB and emotions were HIGH on both sides of the board. This year, it could go either way. I have to say, I was prepared for a loss at BR, and when we came away with the win, it was a great feeling for our team and fans. I think we can win tonight with homefield advantage, and pray for no injuries on either team.

My suggestion, get there before 6:30 if you want a seat. And yes, there was "ProudHornetMom" on the board, her kids graduated this year (2010). She still comes to the games but not on the 3aDL like she used to be.

I gotta give it to little Fitzhenry (sorry don't know his first name). He threw a helluva pass with 2 seconds left on the clock. I don't even remember the exact yardage, but at least 40+ yards. It was caught, but a yard short of the goal line. This game could have went the other way, but the Hornets pull out the win. Congratulations to the Hornets, and hats off to the Buffaloes for a hard fought game, literally to the last second.

Wow o wow! Still crying in my beer...

1st, thanks to the Caldwell hosts. Everyone was super nice and gracious.

The hornet's passing game was their trump card. The Buffs could not defend it.

The field was dry! Guess we can't buzz the hornets too much about that anymore.

The buffs held onto the rock. Lost it once but recovered. I don't believe the hornets turned it over either.

I brought an Aggie buddy of mine and he said it was the best football game he's seen all year period.

I think the penalties were roughly Buffs 4 or 5 flags vs 1 or 2 for Caldwell. Refs were letting 'em play. I didn't see but a handfull of cheap shots but both teams got away with a couple.

Good luck to the rest of your season Hornets. Congrats on a come from behind tough win.

It doesn't really matter but I just watched the KBTX video and he was no where near out of bounds. they said he caught it on the 2 yd line. Oh so close. Like the rest of this game.

all i can say is up until now, i put caldwell up with kirbyville this year in my polls mainly because they beat all comers so far, but i wasn't expressing that i was disappointed in the only game i saw tape of them in, which was the playoff game last year against cleveland, i just didn't think they really showed up as a top 10 team so many said they were....they earned their stripes last night, for sure, i'll be putting them above kirbyville this week....

....and putting giddings at #10....nothing to be ashamed of in that game.....
