View Full Version : Robstown vs. CC Miller (Homecoming Week)

Well it's homecoming week over here in Cottonpicker land. The vibe around town is at a all time high with this team, which hasn't been felt in a very, VERY long time. The community is happy to have a football team to support without having to wait til baseball season.

Onto the game itself. Robstown unleashed is passing game at the right time after showing flashes the last 2 pre-season game vs. Sinton and Ingleside. West Oso thought they would have to stop the run to beat Robe but that wasn't the case. Moments like this is when credit is due to the coaches for doing their homework and finding holes in that stingy WO D. CC Miller scouts have been to the last 2 Robstown games. Miller has that standout RB but that pretty much it. Don't see Miller stopping Randy Flores or getting past the beef in that O-line. Robstown goes 2-0 in district play and winning this one big in front of the Picker fans and that much closer to the District title.

I know it's a little high and Coach Woods likes to call off the dogs once the lead is out of reach but Robe will be too much for Miller to stop.

let me know how both teams look. Curious to know how Raymondville looks and see how they do outside of the valley.

Going with Robstown.

SFIA concerning the Miller vs Raymondville game, in your own opinion is Miller underrated? or Raymondville overrated?

Bump for an answer :cool: underrated, no. from what i saw they run their offense like they havent practiced on some occassions but their rb has some speed and if its the soph qb he has some speed also, pretty much like facing West Oso but i would give WO as being a better coach team if comparing between these two teams. i have quite a bit video on how bad Miller looked on offense against Raymondville but didnt add it to this video

If they develop a passing game they will be very good, especially with that defense.
Even if they don't they look to be top 20...:nerd:

dedicated bear fan said Miller got several players back last week that hadnt played this year maybe they are making a difference defensively as that is th only thing that look ok in game with Raymondville.

Very weird and sloppy game played by both teams. Robstown gave up plenty of opportunity to keep this game outta reach but penalties at bad times and turnovers kept Miller in this game. It was clear that frustration was setting in for the Pickers but kept their cool. I also want to add the officiating wasn't stealer either. First play in the 2nd half, Robstown score a TD on a pass but was called back by a inverted whistle. Just a sloppy game period but all that matters is the win and Randy Flores taking this team on his back prove Robstown will be just fine.
