Sinton without a doubt will have their hands full trying to stop David McHugh. But I like the way Sinton moves the ball down the field. Should be close in the first half but Sinton should pull away in the 2nd.

i know ingleside will be up for this one, and it's on their field, but i don't see Sinton letting the mustangs beat them this year.

as the Pirates showed perfectly last night, they WANT the opponent's offense on the field. long drives increase their chances of slipping up. 2 times in the 4th qtr vs Rockport long drives ended up with interceptions.

add in the fact that ingleside kept the pirates from taking sole possession of the district title, this one could get chippy early.

I will say this, I know that Ingleside is a severe underdog and it would make it that much sweater if a victory comes our way on Friday. I would like to know how Ingleside played against Goliad in regards to turnovers and penalties. That is going to be the key for Ingleside. If they can fix the turnover problems then I have a feeling that they can keep the game close.

Sinton makes plays on D and will cause turnovers. Its up in the air if Ingleside keeps it close and if they show up in the 2nd half.

It should be a good game. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend so please have updates. Also please post the volleyball results as the two teams will be playing at about 4:30 P.M.

I think Sinton will win a close one. The key thing is that Sinton must not let them get on us early like they did last year and then they were able to hang on for the win. Sinton must not start off on the wrong foot like last week.

If your defense can stop the pass then Sinton has no problem. If not then it could be a close game. I think Ingleside's lack of experience is a big problem. Too many turnovers and penalties at critical times. Ingleside will have to play their very best to win this game. Who knows? Stranger things have happended.

McHugh wanted back under center. I think this is a good thing. The freshmen quarterback can still get a few reps per game. He also is very fast and can be used as a running back. Wide receivers are McHugh, Montgomery, Austin Barrajas. Lots of speed in WR corp. Running back Marquise Barolle also gets some passing action. He is very small but very quick. Teams shouldn't underestimate him because of his size. He has very good hands and doesn't drop passes. Even though he is only about 5' 4" tall and 150 lbs he is very hard to bring down. Lots of twists and turns. I'm really looking forward to this game. It will be very good experience for Ingleside even though they may lose. I think it will bring some experience that will be helpful against Rockport-Fulton and Mathis.

This little guy is a great kid with lots of heart. He is just a sophomore. My wife has had him in classes when she has substitued at the high school. She says his attitude is just great and always has a smile on his face. He really gets pumped at the games. His name will be well known in the district over the next couple of years.

Just gave the game away to Zapata. Couldn't spell football much less play it in the second half.

In my opinion we should have beat Robstown. Ingleside was within the 1-yard line twice and didn't score. At the end of the game Ingleside was on the Robstown 10 yard with no timeouts and 13 seconds remaining. IMO Ingleside should have thrown in to the end zone and had a couple of shots at it. That's not what happened. Ingleside threw a short pass to the 5 yard line and couldn't get into the end zone. Time ran out. I think that was a bad play selection.

Ingleside always plays us tough, its like the freakin super bowl for them (and everyone else on our schedule) when they play Sinton. This is gonna be a great game! But Sinton just has too much firepower and I dont see em getting stopped anytime soon.

If Ingleside's passing game is good then this could be a high scoring affair. I think Sinton will score plenty of points. Ingleside will just have to score a lot to win. The passing game is key.

The Mustangs have won three of their last four, including a 42-6 beatdown of Goliad to open district play, and they're hoping that momentum will carry over against the Pirates.

"We are just gonna play balls to the wall fired up and get after it. I mean, we know they are a good team, but we are also just as good. We did lose a lot of starters and people are doubting us, but our effort out there is going to be intense," said Fullback Tyler Hernandez.

Last season, the Pirates defeated the Mustangs 35-28, and that sting is still lingering inside of the locker room.

"Sinton has a great team, no doubt, and they are one of the favorites to win district, but we feel good. We have made some changes and we are moving the ball on offense now and starting to move the ball on defense, so we are hoping we can just play a good ball game and not do things that will hurt our chances of winning," said Head Coach Graig Hesseltine.

And an interesting statistic for fans is the winner of this game has gone on to win or at least share the district title each of the last six seasons.

Thank you! I have heard quite a bit about Sinton's run defense being pretty good. I had not heard much about the pass defense.
This could be real interesting since the pass is a very big part of Ingleside's offense.

I don't know. Our run defense has been suspect at times, but our coaching staff does a great job of making adjustments and then our kids buckle down.

Good solid programs have tons of depth. Look at Cuero from past and present. One year at the Alamo Dome I counted almost 60 of those Gobblers suited up. Great numbers for 3a. Numbers cycle in 3a but no matter the circumstance....Sinton wins!
