Discovery channel has/had a show called Animal Face-off where they "tested" two similar animals in a fight. Of course they didn't actually test, but simply evaluated their strengths and weaknesses, then computer generated a fight. According to the fight-simulation team on Animal Face Off, a lion would win.

Also, Friday night has nothing to do with the past 6 years... :)

Nor is Gilmer, Carthage, or Argyle. I don't recall the last time Brownwood or any School from Region 1 dominated a defensive smashmouth team from anywhere other than Region 1. Spread teams are fun to play with a smothering defense. If I was Snyder I would hit the QB every play and jam everything coming off the line of scrimmage disrupting any timing play. I would shore up my tackling to eliminate yards after the catch. I think that type of defense would frustrate a good Brownwood offense. Time eating smashmouth drives on offense behind a strong line would cut down on chances for Brownwoods offense. If Brownwood fails to score one or 2 times on offense it would be over.

But hey, that's my opinion and you have yours. I know you have the athletes but if they don't get the ball they can't score. Studs are studs and they will get loose and score but again hit the QB every play, Keep him moving and the passing game will fail.

I don't know of any other plan that would work after hearing and listening to how y'all play. You are dang good and the rest of the State of Texas knows it. But you and I both know there is always a way if there is a will. Liberty Hill beat Celina the first time we played but the second time .... not so much. Brownsboro and China Spring tried us in 07 and we won those also. Carthage had a heck of a line in 08 and 09. The difference was the back in 08. He was unstoppable but it again was made possible by the O-Line. We may never know if Brownwood could beat Celina this year but I for one would love to see it. Could we stop you? No. Could we beat you? Maybe.

Okay, okay. I'll ease up a little. No, unfortunately I will not get to make the trip to the game. I think the atmosphere is going to be great! Hate to miss this one. I'll be getting updates and possibly listening to it. But I will tell you this, if you are watching the Abilene/Midland Lee game, it will be very similar. Snyder is a really good team this year and I respect that. Brownwood team this year just has that special group that only comes through every so many decades. Any other year, Snyder probably wins with the team they have.

Good point! You see, that's what most outsiders don't know. Brownwood has a great running game... Just haven't had to use it much this year. Throwing the ball down field is way more fun. I guarantee you this, if the Lions wanted, they could have the same record with their running game alone.

We had a game like that one night a long time ago with Sweetwater and I believe both QB's had record setting games through the air. I do remember one WR for Snyder had somewhere around 250 yards and 3 or 4 TD's. When the WR's would plate to make their cut the DB's would land on the backside and it was open field.

And you are under the impression that Brownwood won't stop your untested offense.

As to the sportsmanship in the game it got very chippy to say the least. There was a lot of pushing and shoving and jawing on both sides of the ball that took away from game in many ways.

I don't know Coach Shipley but to allow his players to run through the sign while the Tiger band was still playing was classless at best. Not all kids are big enough to play football and the girls sure can't play the game and to basic tell them they don't matter is so sad. I'm sure the Brownwood fans would say the same thing if another team did that to their band. One of Rocket's good friends ask if that's how they do things in Brownwood and he laughed jokingly, and said yes. I wish we hadn't run thru the sign til y'all finished playing either, but look at it both ways, halftime had been over for a few minutes and the band was still playing. We got a delay of game penalty coming out of halftime a couple weeks ago cuz our band did that. No issues with that, think it's great in today's world that you have kids participating in that venue. When I was leaving, I saw it. I did not have anybody's phone number so I could ask for directions. I did ask a local inside the stadium and he was clueless--like me. LOL Hopefully, there will be another opportunity.

I'll defend him....he's a heck of a coach...the best Snyder has had. I may not agree with some of the calls he makes, but I'm not in his shoes. He's had success in what he's doing and the program that he has built here. Look at Snyders record prior to Rogers.

As for him being on the field, he is doing nothing different that what Sandifer does, if you haven't noticed. There were plenty of piss poor calls (both ways) and he's defending his team. I saw shipley on the field many times as well.
