Looking at the stats on DMN, he has played the last 2 weeks, but he's not getting any touches - caught 1 pass last week, 0 rushes -and against Bridgeport he had 3 rushes and 1 reception.

Prosper is a good team full of talent. If the coaches can get and keep the kids trust and they can keep from turning the ball over they are going to give you a game. We have played both you guys and I think yall are a lot closer than it appears. Good luck to both teams.

Juan Williams is not getting the ball. Many of us fans are wondering why he hasn't been playing on kick off return. We know why he isn't getting ball on offense. Coaches are busy playing all the younger kids to get the experience (I guess) and not going with the older kids who lead the team.

The entire offensive scheme was changed this year to more of what the oc wanted to run last year. The ability of the offensive line last year made that unrealistic as they needed the fullbacks help to pick up the blocks they needed. The problem is this years scheme doesn't really suit William's style of running like they thought it would. I'm sure the coaching staff will figure out a way to get Williams the ball more in the coming weeks.

That may be, but I don't see someone not getting the ball to their biggest offensive threat because his style doesn't fit the system. I know the oc they had there during the state run and the couple of years before that fit the system to the strength of the team. It could have more to do with the kid getting hurt week 0 and not being 100%. I seem to remember the kid hurting his ankle at one time and not really doing much until he was 100% and by that time a Sr. running back stepped up and made it hard for him to get on the field.

The offense they are running is one where the QB can keep the ball and run it and THAT he does. Look at the stats . One of the qb's has a lot of carries and yardage and the other qb runs the option plays- Juan had 1800 yds last yr and has hardly anything so far this year. They did put in some new plays this week, but the real problem is deeper than that. Big Big ruckus during and after the Argyle game. Hopefully they have things settled down and the kids can just play the game!

I know that in 08 the QB ran for around 1,200 yards, the sr. rb ran for around 1,400 yards and Juan ran for about 700 yards so what you are describing can work, so I don't see where it is the coach's fault. Maybe there is too much selfishness in the locker room or coming from the parents.

I disagree. Juan isn't getting the ball because he's a punk and won't stay in bounds. 50% of the time he touches the ball he hops out of bounds for a loss to avoid contact. He needs to lose the wrist band around his neck, stop acting like a tit bag and become a team player then he might be good again. Right now he is worthless and I'd have him filling water bottles just like the head coach has done the past few weeks. It's about the only thing right that HC has done until this week. Now he's pulled Webb off the freshman team and he's starting LB. He should be starting running back as he's arguably the most talented kid on the team. Prosper may lose tonight (will be a good game) but with these moves they will become a much better team over the next few weeks. The younger kids may be playing because they are more talented, just because you are a junior or senior doesn't mean you deserve to start. Get the best kids on the field and get after it which is what you're going to see over the next few weeks.

I agree that being a Jr or Sr doesn't make you a better player, but I have to wonder if you have seen a game? Turnovers have been killing us and who is making them? Sophomores/Jrs . I agree there are talented underclassmen, but they need seasoning and need to be getting experience while playing next to the older kids with experience. An example: kick off return 2 Sophomores who have no Varsity experience has resulted in numerous turnovers.

As far as Juan, I do not care for alot of his "choices" but wow you have real issues if you think a freshman is going to just jump in and take over. Whether you like Juan's attitude or not (I don't care for it either) he can run with the ball. He has proven so over the past 3 yrs of Varsity play.

1. Your argument about the coaches is valid, but what is the difference in the way the teams were coached in 06, 07, 08, and 09 and this years team? I just cannot see a coach who is worth his salt supporting selfish behavior as you say.

2. Selfish behavior generally comes from selfish parents. It is promoted at home first and foremost and the coaches are the ones left to deal with it. That is what I meant in my parent comment.

Some examples of this is when parents tell their kid: "You should be getting more playing time" "They don't give you the ball more because they don't like you"...I know for a fact that this goes on b/c I have heard people around me say that in the stands. These people do not know why the coaches make their decisions. Usually the #1 reason coaches make the decisions they do is in the best interest of the TEAM! Other reasons have to deal with the scheme they are running. The eagles are running different type of read option plays. The way Argyle and Bridgeport played their defense it meant that the QB kept the ball.

Kids should be held accountable and if they are causing disharmony that should be disciplined as well. It's kind of like someone getting on a public forum that everyone can see and bad mouthing coaches and other players. Thanks for supporting the kids of our community!

I agree that kids involved in the side lines stuff should be disciplined. Juan was not the only one involved in that and if you talk to the kids it isn't the "leadership" who have the attitudes. I know he is a team captain, but I wouldn't call him part of the leadership.

I would strongly disagree that none of the Jr and Sr's are leading the team. There are a couple who are doing their best, but it is a difficult task when you have kids who think they are better than everyone else and don't know there isn't an "i" in the word team. Especially when they are not receiving support from the adult staff.

Those Prosper kids and parents worked for years since pee wee toward the goal of beating Celina and winning state. Congrats to those people. Whats left is fodder for 4A after the next alignment. Maybe our admin should have hired those peewee coaches that coached those kids to run our program. I mean they did such a great job of coaching our QB from that team, the starting right tackle, the all state db who played wr also, the edwards kid at de. Oh wait, those kids didn't live in prosper at that age...dang it!

Who cares. The core of that group were kids who have been focused on beating Celina and winning more since they were much younger. I heard that from one of their parents not too long ago. Your 4 move ins made some impact but where are they now?? you still have lots of move ins. If your coaches and town were so great, why the decline the last year and now?? you only have nearly twice the students of Celina to work with.

My concern is with how people in my own community bad mouth players and coaches on this forum, but you have to jump in. The players from the 08 team were a great group of kids and the coaches did a great job...anyone who says different is blinded by arrogance and ignorance. Why are they not doing well now? Has a little to do with schedule, a little to do with them losing their top 2 coordinators over the last 2 years and a lot to do with what these kids are hearing at home. I do blame the parents. I sit in the stands and hear the STUPID things coming out of their mouths. What they need to learn is to teach their kids how to be team players, listen to the coaches, even if they (the parents) don't agree with their decisions, and to never act selfishly or complain when things don't go their way, but to work harder. You can reply if you want to, but I am not going to respond to Celina. Hope you have a great year. I really pity you that the only joy you have in life is whether your Bobcats win or lose. That is a shallow and empty life!
