Who wins and why? I wouldn't count Bandera out just yet.

35-7 Texans:cool:
Don't think Bulldogs can stop Wimberley's offense even without Smith.

Don't count out Bandera just yet. They have a utility player that is the the play threat every down, #7 I believe, and #22 isn't a bad RB either, makes some pretty good plays with his feet. It may be a more evenly matched game than some Texan fans may have hoped..

Bandera has had wimberly # the past few years, this year should be thier year for revenge. No doubt the playing field is closer to being level with Smith out. #7 is soph. ,injured as fresh. is back-up Qb and used as wildcat. #22 is legit but coaches are wearing him out (last week 25 carries for 263 yds). #33 should be back after ankle injury in week 0. If he can go will help take pressure off #22. I'll give wimb. the advantage even with Smith out, they have more depth and talent in skill positions. Can't wait to have PIZZA in wimberly.

I think we will be just fine through district, Dennis was a big part on offense but played sparingly on D. Our D should be good enough to get us through district and the backup runningbacks are pretty solid. I dont see much to worry about as long as he comes back by playoffs. We should get Dennis and Blakemore back by then and that would be huge for the playoffs!!

I don't really know how good Bandera is offensively, but I know they have consistently given us problems over the last 5 years and they seem to always play us well. Couple that with the fact that Wimberley is playing without Dennis Smith and I think we may sputter a bit offensively in the 1st half while we find a rhythm.

What im wondering is if we are going to pound the ball all night trying to get dennis' backup(s) a lot of work, or are we going to take the opportunity to try and develop the passing game? Which up to this point has taken a back burner due to Dennis' success.

It is homecoming and no doubt the Texans will be fired up to play. The defense has been getting better as the season goes along and I think they have one of their best games of the season tonight.

Prediction: Wimberley 27-7

That was just plain ugly, Bandera never stood a chance and they usually have a pretty decent team and give up a good fight but it was like men vs boys tonite. We looked physical tonite after a weeks rest and QB Lambert carried the load with Smith out. The backup RB's played good and should be able to get us through the next 3 games. We did what a top team should and that is just dominate lesser opponents by half and put the game away. We flew to the ball tonite and punished the carrier everytime, and looked to play with a swagger. I liked the effort the entire game and even the 2nd teamers played hard. I really liked how we played tonite, if we come out with that intensity for the rest of district then we should dominate it. Looks like we will have Smith back for hopefully the last district game, and possibly Blakemore and Fonville. We get those three back in the mix for playoffs and are team could really be special this year. On to next weeks game!!
