Jacoby Jones looks good today.

Foster looks pretty good too.

Any Cowpie fans wanna jump in?

Well, Slaton didn't look good there.

Texans still need better backup backs.

Dallas redzone D is looking pretty good.

3-0 Houston

TD!! Niiiice.

Question for anyone who can answer: In the last series when Jason Witten picked up that short pass as he was going down, and then he was rolling on the ground as the two defenders dove into him...how come that wasn't a late hit? He was clearly already on the ground. Is it because he could have gotten up and run with the ball unless someone touched him while he was on the ground?

Yes.

If he isn't touched, he can get up and keep running.

Score is a lot lower than I expected it to be so far.

I think both teams will play better in the second Houston will outplay Dallas and win by 10.

As someone who never played football and really didn't even start following it until college and after, I am unaware of some of the finer points. Normally there's a guy around that I can ask, but today I'm watching solo. I thought it was okay to ask for clarification here. Clearly I was mistaken.

ETA: For the record, I'll bet I still know more football than most female-types, this board excluded.

Don't take him too hard... he's the type who when he knows something and someone else doesn't he tries to prove his knowledge by putting someone else down. And I second the jerk comment by Carter08

Thanks, folks! :) :) :) I'm fine--except for the fact that Andre Johnson just went down, and I really needed him on my FF team. That's going to reeeeeally sting. I benched Dez Bryant and kept AJ in despite the injury--two decisions that may come back to haunt me. ARGH.

Officiating question: If you are shoved out of bounds you cannot be the first to touch the ball? I thought if you were shoved out then as long as you got back in as quick as you could that you could continue to be an eligible receiver.

no..if player goes out opf bounds they cant be the first person to touch the ball..you might be thinking of punt team guys who CAN go out of bounds and come back in and make the tackle

Brings up another question. If you shove a player out of bounds thereby altering his path and he is the intended receiver, how is that not pass interferrance?

in the nfl there is no force out rule. if you are forced out as a receiver then you cant be the first to touch the ball. whereas in college if you are forced out you can still be the first to touch the ball. in colllege you can push and bump all day until the ball is in the air. in the nfl you only have 5 yards to do that

Yes, but I'm fairly confident it was beyond 5 yards. The definition of PI is if the receiver's path to the ball is altered by contact from the defender, right? It may have been that the ball wasn't thrown until he got back in. Don't know, would like to see the replay.

Went to the game, 'Boys looked great, Finally put a game together. I Just wanted to apologize to Texan fans for the totally uncalled for behavior of a group Dallas fans in section 350. Those guys were out of control and were very rude. Security escorted them out but not before those guys seriously upset several people. Cowboy fans were happy about the win and I understand the excitement, but the poor sportsmanship was apparent. theres always someone who has to be classles. I guess it's the same at all levels. None the less, that nonsense is unexceptable. I might have putten a good ol' country on those punks if I wouldn't have gotten escorted out myself.
