Hondo/Pearsall game thread

After the Jr high, freshman and Jv wins last night the Hondo Owls go for a 7-0 sweep of the Pearsall Mavericks tonight at Barry Field. Go Owls!

Hondo takes opening kickoff and chews five minutes off clock but three penalties catch up with them and they are forced to punt. Mavs go 3 and out then snap the ball over the punters head and the Owls take over at the Pearsall 7. Owls score on a play action pass to the TE.
7-0 Hondo

Pearsall goes three and out again, punt almost blocked only nets 24 yds.

Second play from scrimmage A.J. Leos scores his first Friday night TD.

Hondo's kicker Kolten Van Damme has to learn how to folow through on his kicks. Way to many missed xp's this year.

Pearsall goes three and out again. Punt goes to the 32.
Owls lose five on first down, incomplete pass on second. Hawk Sullivan runs for a first down to the 11. Incomplete pass on first down. A.J Leos runs for five. third and five. Sullivan gets a yard. fourth and four from the five.

Sullivan sacked for a 10 yd loss on fourth down. Pearsall ball.

After another Mavs punt the Owls drive a little then score on a 43 yd pass to Rosenbam. 20-0

I think its more of the fact that Pearsall has a first year coach and graduated a bunch of seniors last year.

They have made some improvements and then they have also had setbacks. Penalties have been a problem and the offense has sputtered at times. The defense gave up 42 last week. Hopefully they can get everything going the right direction and maybe make the playoffs for the first time in three years.
