A highly ranked Henderson team comes to LEopardland tonight. This game will feature 2 of NE Texas finest backs with Polk for Henderson approaching 800 yds and Carson for LE knocking on 700. The keys for LE will be stopping the run of Henderson while not giving up a big play on PA pass. The LEopards did a good job of controlling Gilmers high powered O (holding them to 300 total yds) but just did not put enough points on the board. I heard that there may be a new wrinkle or 2 in the O this week that will really open it up. I hope that is the case.

Hendersons task is to slow Carson, Norman, Reed, Jackson and a multitude of offensive weapons down and sustain drives when they have the ball.

This should be a fun game to watch.

If L-E does not turn the ball over, and passes a little bit more efficiently, they definitely have a shot at beating Henderson. I'm pretty sure the Lions will try to stop the run, too, so the passing game may be more open for them if they choose to air it out a little more. However, they must also be able to stop the run against the Lions, or at least slow it down. I think the Leopard secondary is very good, and will make it difficult for Henderson to get big plays through the air. I think Gilmer was successful running the ball against the Leopards because it was unexpected. The Buckeyes did something VERY unusual, that is run the ball almost exclusively -- especially in the 2nd half. Good luck to the Leopards, and it wouldn't hurt my feelings if y'all beat them.:D This is very hard for me to say, but.........
GO LEOPARDS!

GO LEOPARDS! Lol, I think the odds are in LEs favor with the kids playing at home. This will be the second home game of the year so it should be a packed house. If what I am hearing is correct there may be quite a few balls in the air. I was pretty pleased with the D last week, but the O has got to pick it up, if they can hold Henderson to 28 then it is up to the O to score and keep the D off of the field.:)

My brother in law is a coach at Henderson. He say's they are really good. But then again he said they were going to win it all last year and they failed to make the playoff's.

Good Luck.

Should have gone to this one, LOL. Sounds like a good game. Pulling for LE of course, I think Henderson is vastly overrated, but that remains to be seen. Maybe they will prove me wrong, maybe not.

LE D- Pretty solid missed some opportunities for big plays and missed a few tackles that have extended drives.

LE O- Carson has busted 2-3 good runs as has QB Norman.
Passing game has not been real effective for LE, but throwing enough that they aren't packing the line

Henderson O-RB is quick but goes down pretty easy. Passing game is pretty solid. Have not thrown deep yet... Hope it stays that way.

Henderson drives ball down and scores. 1 big run on a misdirection play. QB nearly lost a fumble but recovered at 1 and runs in.

O line is bad. Not going far unless they improve.
District in 2 weeks and I don't think we will be tested, but unless some seriousO line blocking develops we might.

Blocking, Tackling, & taking care of the FB hurt the leopards. Have two weeks to get those taken care of.

LE was in the game until the 2 turnovers on the KOs. Our defense played well but was left on the field too long and poor tackling technique was rampant. The defense is there, but the offense must improve and give them a rest. :nerd:

I am still trying to decide who is better Henderson or Gilmer and I really can't decide because the LE team that showed up tonight wasn't the one that went to Gilmer. 16 3A should be everything that we thought it would be. The winners will be those that play well and avoid injury.

Yes, LE is open next week and then opens district with Paris. :)

We open with Henderson. Get the biggest out of the way early I guess.

We improve a little each week and I for one am thankful for it. The kids are giving all they have. I feel for the ones that have to go both ways but their conditioning seems good. I'm just praying for the kids to stay healthy. Winning is not worth getting maimed (in my eyes anyway).
