Hardin-Simmons Cowboys (3-0)

at Whitworth • W, 27-7
vs. #15 Willamette • W, 31-22
vs. #19 Mississippi College • W, 45-10

Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders (2-0)

at UW-La Crosse • W, 24-19
at McMurry • W, 43-31

Over the past 10 years or so, UMHB has had the Cowboy's number. The ASC title typically comes down to who wins this game.

Anyone care to discuss or predict a score?

UMHB is always good till playoffs...I don't understand why their coach gets so conservative in playoff games. I guess he's coaching not to lose instead of coaching to win.

UMHB has had pretty good post-season success in the last 5-10 years though. I don't know about the play-calling but they are good year in year out

Anyone know of any difference makers for either team that are former 3A players?

Justin Feaster, of Glen Rose, is the QB for HSU

Kyle Noack from Cuero (QB UMHB) been nursing an injury - he played few set of downs in Wisconsin 2 weeks ago but left the game after his knee acted up again. - hopefully he'll get some playing time this week.

One thing I can't stand is how these two teams typically square off in week 1 or 2 of the playoffs due to the NCAA's travel reasons. One team is ousted right away and both could win 1-3 playoff games every year if they didn't beat out each other.

Trinity '02 stomps them all, put '98 and '99 on that list as well!

UMHB will win. I go to UMHB but dont really follow the football program that much since it is DIII...but this should be a good one to watch.

thanks, it hurts to watch the winningest program in Texas in the 90's fall from grace.

Freaking entrance standards!

WooHoo
Mary Hardin Baylor - 42
Hardin-Simmons 28

I don't have many details other than Kyle scored the 1st TD for UMHB early in the 1st
Bronson Buzzard plays Linebacker for Hardin-Simmons - his daddy coached in Cuero in the 90's

I listened to the game -- hoping for a Cowboy victory. HSU just could not stop the UMHB ground game. The Cru O is just hard to stop.

Was a good game for a while.

I know Bronson Shaw from Brownwood had an INT for UMHB.

A 21-0 2ndQ was the difference in this one...good luck to both moving forward

Were you at the game? Was it dominated by the Cru or did HSU make costly mistakes?

Na, I am in Cameron so I really have no idea. I have a few classes with some of the players so I will probably get some more info on Monday. You can also look at the stats as posted below.

UMHB won the field position battle which led to short drives that they finished off with scores. In the 2nd Qr HSU had two 3 and outs and UMHB scored after getting the ball back both times on short fields.

Moral of the story is that HSU could not stop the running game. The Cru had over 500 yards of offense.
