I think region 4 has a very good possiblity to take both divisions but I won't mention any teams.

Yah, Region 4 does have a great shot...

Burnet in D1

Rice Consolidated in D2

I say it's still wide open though...

Burnet still isn't out of the woods...

Burnet had the best chance of winning it all
...and unless Decatur can upset Everman, i think Everman is still the team to beat in R1.
Region 2 is tuff between Daingerfield and Forney (thats right 3afan2k3, and jason...FORNEY)...R3 Newton is the best bar-none, bellville has a chance, and marlin isnt as good as everyone is claiming them to be....and the only team in R4 is Burnet.

To answer your question, 3afan2k3, I don't think they could have...

But I can guarantee you whoever wins state this year in D2 could hang with D1... Because anyone who can beat Bellville, Rice Consolidated, and/or the teams that beat them that beat them that beat them is DANG GOOD!

I know what you mean about Burnet...

But having seen teams like Rice, they'd atLEAST give 'em their closest game of the year...

Division II - Bellville

... but it would be interesting to see a Burnet-Navasota playoff showdown in Division I. Rattlers are mighty good this year

I'd have to agree that an early guess would be Burnet D1 and Bellville D2. But anything could happen. It is way to early to say that with complete confidence. There are a lot of good teams out there, and anything could happen!

Burnet is a lock unless their horses get injured. D-2 is full of evenly matched teams

In 02 there was a team from near the coast that had great receivers, an awesome quarterback, lots of returning starters with playoff experience and had been real close to the title the year before. Looked like no-one could stop them. Then they ran into a well coached team with a lot of heart and quite a bit of talent, and the little team came from nowhere the year before. The only lock the Burnet boys have is they will have a chance to play. At present, Burnet has 0 district wins. Every game counts now and there are many teams with a chance to win state.

Any given Sunday, Saturday, Monday, Friday...whenever the teams play...anything CAN happen. Burnet may have a great chance, but you can't just say that if they stay healthy they will definitely win. If that was the case, there'd be no need to play the games.

crzyjournalist: AMEN! I totally agree with Burnet. You know, just because a team makes it to the State game the previous year (win it or not) doesn't mean they will automatically win it the following year. Yeah, we (Burnet) have alot of returning starters, but look at Sinton last year. They were the Team to beat and alot of hype was shoveled on their backs and they lost. PLUS, there are at least 5 district games left and then play-offs so how can ANYONE say that ANY team is a lock to win. Yes, maybe they have a chance but a CHANCE is all. When the 3rd round of PO's come around, then predictions can be made without so much skepticism involved. Whoever wins state this year will be one awesome team because this years teams in every region/division have been drinking something off the hook! Despite all I have said, I still am going with my dawgs...GO BURNET!

Burnet seems to be the team to beat. I always like it when the biggest target is painted on someone else's back. And I am glad that Burnett is in everyone's sights.

It's really to soon to tell who will be state champion. If we were in the playoff's now I could say Burnet but we are not. It's like BurnetBandRules says all the hype was given to Sinton and they lost a good game to Burnet. We will see but it to early to say. I can tell you guy's that I would like to see Burnet win it all this year. Good Luck and GO PIRATES!!

No mater how you slice it Region II will be the teams to beat in both divisions! Sorry fellas These boys are just too tough! Burnet???? All I can say is GOOD LUCK!!!! Trust me you will need it!

Hey, Commerce Fan. Did you ever see Burnet play last year? Or have you seen them play this year? We kicked butt all year last year and Burnet tore us up. They were our last game of the regular season and it stunk. We're kicking the same teams butts this year, even worse than last, and I'm not sure we can hang with them. Of course, I'll be there in purple, yelling my fool head off.

I wanna know why a lot a people think Bellville is going to be state champs in D2. I think Rice has a good chance of winning it cuz right now i think our boys want it bad enough. And when we meet up with Bellville again we're going to run all over em.

I think this is Forney's year in D1. They play smart and have lots of weapons.
My vote is still out on D2.

What a lot of people don't understand it that some of these teams will be 4A next year.

Everman will be
burnet might be
diamond hill might be
forney might be
and aledo might move one down to 3a again.

I don't see Aledo moving down. The numbers are too high there and their population is growing like a mofo.

I heard Stephenville might move down...
