District 28 opener for Both Teams. The Eagles are coming off a 38-19 win over Aransas Pass while Cuero defeated PT. Lavaca Calhoun 34-21.

The Eagles appear to have a balanced offense led by Luke Walters completing 51% of his passes for 586 yds., 6 tds., and 2 ints'.. His main recievers are Zach Jackson 11 rec.. 142 yds., and two tds., Greg Guerrero 7 rec., 122 yds., 2 tds., and Mike Sorola 14 rec., and 122 yds.

Greg Guerrero is also the leading rusher with 321 yds. followed by Tayler Hearn with 113. Looks like the makings for another good game Where the Gobbler defense will be tested.

Cuero can name their points and margin here. Showdown the following week for the district I predict.

I think that Trent Jackson is sitting at about 4,780 yards for his career. That is what I am remembering. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. He has a chance to hit 5,000 yards in just his 5th game of his junior year. 6,000 is not out of the question this year at all.

I am sure there are a lot of Sandcrabs that can testify that this is entirely possible.

I voted for Cuero, but I'll be honest and say it's only because I'm a homer, and would never vote against my Gobblers!! GO MEAN GREEN!!!

Strait had about 6,860 after his junior year. Remember he had over 3500 his junior year and only 1500 his senior year

I was waiting to see the Gobblers find that motivation and bring the INTENSITY! They did that last week --- If they continue to do that, then I think we could see an 8-2 season and a good playoff run.

Those kids have enough talent to be the best team in the District and the Region if they continue to play with the Intensity like they did last week. Getting Better and Better - Day by Day - lets see that same fire and energy this Friday!

Pleasanton doubled up Aransas Pass...
don't put much stock into that.
Aransas is looking very weak again this year.

Sorry APPF...

I would have to say, emotion early playing the Gobblers will keep this game close for the first Qtr. Then the Gobblers speed will break it wide open by half time. Look for a lop sided final in the end.

55-14

Hope Trent's injury isn't too severe. Great kid. Was it on a cut in which he injuried it?

It looked like he took a helmet right on the bone on the outside of his knee. Hopefully it is just bruised. He was walking around a lot. It did not look like any kind of ligament injury but I'm no doctor.

Pretty good line on the game. 2 carries - 69 yards. He is just seeing the field so well right now. I hope he is fine for this week.
