Great Games this year!

As we reflect on the games this year, I would ask each of you to tell about a good game that you saw that did NOT involve your team....................My best game was Splendora vs Sweeny. Splendora was undefeated and came out strong. They have one of the best young Offensive Coordinators in the state in Reese Briggs. His offense kept Sweeny off balance for 3 good quarters. Sweeny however is a tough big team. In the fourth quarter all Splendora had to do was maintain possession to win. The Sweeny defense stopped them in time to mount a final drive. Of course, gambleing on fourth down and maintaining momentum brought a good Sweeny offense into the end zone for a win. Splendora and Sweeny both probably played their best season game that night.

The Bridgeport/Commerce game was pretty good. Besides a potent passing game, Bridgeport was completely outmanned. Commerce dominated for 3 quarters untill Bridgeport somehow found that 5th gear and came roaring back, only to have the game be put out of reach late in the 4th quarter. Either way, it was a great show of heart by Bridgeport, and a great show of skill by Commerce. It was obvious which team had been there before and which was a newcomer to the semis.
