Sweeny's Senior Class has won every game against Brookshire. They have all been extremely close...even in Junior High. Brookshire doesn't want this Senior class to lose again to Sweeny and Sweeny doesn't want to let Brookshire end the streak. One of the best games in the state.

This little exercise in post padding and name calling is very entertaining and juvenile, but, I am gonna give a real opinion of the game.

Brookshire Royal has a real stud running back that can take any play to the house. The supporting cast is not nearly as impressive, but is more than average and compliments Williams very well. Defensively, the Falcons are just average against the run, but appear to be very good at defending the pass.

Sweeny. on the other hand, does not have the one stud on offense. They will come into this game with a couple of very dependable runners that can three and four yard you to death. They also have a QB that can execute on a controlled play action passing scheme and add a few yards by tucking it in and run.
Defensively, Sweeny has an above average run defense and only an average pass defense. The strength and key of that defense is strong play by the linebackers.

It appears to me that on paper the Bulldogs have the advantage because they are a strong running team that can pass when needed. Also, that has them attacking the weakness in the Royal defense. Whereas, Brookshire Royal's strength is a running game and that happens to be the strength of the Sweeny defense.

This Should be a good game and very exciting. If Tre Lemon can have a good game on the ground and in the air the dogs should pull this one off. The Dogs just need to try to limit Williams to at least 150 yards and 3 TD's. Sweeny will also need another big game from WR #5 Holmes. Both defenses should have a long night but I'm still going with Sweeny because they have a few more overall weapons.

When BR played Giddings, on their very 1st play from scrimmage, BR's stud running back ran it in untouched. I believe a Buff LB missed his assignment but to me that was the difference in the game. There were several lead changes but BR was ahead when it counted. The Buffs played an ultra conservative offensive game. No passing. Not even 1 pass attempt. It was there every play as BR was cramming the box.

I would love to come to this game (and still may if I can sneak away).

That was Sweeny's JV against Royal's only subvarsity team. A few Freshman played for Sweeny last night. The one's with helmet stickers last night made 90% of the summer workouts, a little incentive to bolster attendance at summer workouts.

The UIL rules just say the summer strength program can not be mandatory to play sports. You can go to the UIL website and read them all.

• Attendance shall be voluntary. Coaches shall not require athletes to attend in order to try out for or participate in any UIL sport.

More importantly, I think this will be a close game with BR edging them out in the end. I think it will be high scoring with a final of BR-42

I dont care what condition the field is in. I am sure the grass is long and the field is wet.
I know one thing for sure. When the whistle blows at 7:30 the players and coaches are going to play this game. You will not be on the field to "pancake" anyone.

As for last night. I have no problem with emotion from coaches. I do have a problem throwing a TD pass with 1 minute remaining when you are up by 16 points on first down and royal is out of timeouts.

The game is coming. you have had a lot to say. You better hope yall win or the board will not be kind to you monday.
