Sweetwater vs Early

Come on you Sweetwater people, 2A Early scheduled you guys for Homecoming... You gotta be a little ticked off about this. I am gonna skip the Bwd game vs Llano and sit with my 3A buds, even though I usually cheer for the Early kids as well just not this week.

They are 2-1 with a last minute win over Cisco, a loss to Eastland and then a good win over Coleman. I dont know much about them yet either but it appears they have a very good running back, he is putting up some yards on the ground in the 1st 3 games. I think he had over 200 in the first game

BIG HUGE difference!!!!!!!!!! He actually had several very talented teams that often under achived.
Now if this coach doesnt win at least 10 NEXT season, with all he'll have coming back, then we can actually start to compare the two.
Not a single coach alive, could have won more than a game or two with that team last year, especially in that district.

That's what I was talking about...not a Jackson fan. He would have taken us a long way in 2001. The talent on that team was amazing, anyways kudos to Sweetwater on the win, hopefully they will keep it rolling.

Dowell was the best Defensive Coordinator we ever had, but I didnt think he was a very good Head Coach. Dang good man though for sure!

My observations were that they appear to have more speed than I saw last year. #2 is a water bug that can scoot and if you had been there I would have had to picked you up off the ground on the 72 yard pass play, yes PASS play for a touchdown. :devil: :devil:

Mobley was a good one too.

Warren brought Dowell over to Abilene High to be his DC. I heard a rumor a few
years ago that he was demoted to a linebacker coach. Not sure if it's true.

He is the linebacker coach as far as I know but I thought he went over to be the linebacker coach and not the DC, I could be wrong though. I'll tell you it didn't take him long to get that job once he left.

You could be right too. I remember that. No sooner did Maikell
reassign him to another position in the ISD, Dowell went to
AHS.

Of course when Maikell's contract ran out he was "reassigned"
himself. I heard he ended up in Forney. Again not sure if the
Forney part is true. But, he did land in the DFW area.
