Can't really get a handle on this one anymore. Zapata seems to be a little under-rated. I'm still gonna go with the Pirates on this one.

Same could be said for Zapata stopping Mathis's rushing game and their three-headed monster in the backfield.

Mathis defense plays to stop the run and that is their strong point defensively, if Zapata cant get them from crowding the line of scrimmage they'll find it difficult to run. And yes Mathis has 3 better than avg running backs and looks like they're trying to develop their passing game also in past couple of games early.

If they can they develop one like GP has now then Mathis will be very tough to beat.

Zapata gets a win over a somewhat down Ingeside team and all of the sudden they're world beaters? Doubtful. Didn't they lose to 2A George West? Granted, GW is a GOOD 2A ball club...but still. The solid, steady team gets the win here over inconsistency.

Zapata has a field that was built for speed. I'm not too sure that will serve as 'Home-field" advantage. Zapata is gonna have to deal with Mair, Washington, and Butler on TURF.

Don't underestimate Zapata. Their quarterback is very, very good. He can run, his short passing game is very good, and he is very deceptive. It is very difficult to know who is getting the hand-off or who has the ball. If Mathis' defense is not on their toes he will eat them up. I think this will be Mathis' defense first real test. Hope they are ready for it. I hope Mathis wins but the upset by Zapata would not surprise me.

Zapata is a good team but not good enough to stay up with Mathis!!!! Mathis is going to wear down that defense because Mathis will run,run,run!! Pound it down there throat on there homefield!! Its going to be a real test for Mathis because they did have trouble with T-M passing game on the first week but its 4 weeks into the season. Mathis will win and will be 5-0 goin into district play!!!:clap:

There are an abundant places to eat in Zapata! That's about all we have. Paraiso, Rincon, El Jacalito, Tacos El Tejano, and Steakhouse. All are staples here in town.

Just haven't had good luck with restaurants in Zapata for some reason. Maybe it is just bad luck. I am going to try the Tacos El Tejano the next time I'm there. By the way I really like the football stadium in Zapata. Pretty nice for a 3A school.

If R-F couldnt hang with Pt. Lavaca there not going to hang with Mathis because Calhoun runs almost the same offense as Mathis. But we're still talking about 6 weeks away from that game. I think its the last game of the season and its in R-F.

Triple option Calhoun runs is nothing like Mathis's slot t, but both teams put their athletes behind quick, under-sized linemen. RF is big on the lines, but I think Mathis's quickness will take care of them much in the same way that the Crab offense did.
