Apparently the Bo Wallace thing fell through....

It fell through because of 2 scenarios...

Connor Brewer got mad because of another QB take(unlikely scenario)

Case was flirting with other schools during the bowl practices and Texas was going to look around for another QB in case in transferred. Case then told the coaching staff he wasn't going to transfer so Texas backed off of Wallace. But apparently Case is still looking to transfer.

Can anyone close to Brad McCoy confirm?

Im not close to the McCoys, but Thursday night I spoke with somebody who still talks to Case (former teammate) and they he is looking at UCLA and Vandy. Said he really likes UCLA because their QB will be done after this year and that will help him considering he has to redshirt if he transfers.

Another note to add, the McCoy camp believes Harsin does not like McCoy because he believes he is a "suck up". Apparently Case came into Harsins office to introduce himself and Harsin did not like it saying that "he knew what he (Case) was trying to do, and that he doesnt like playing games". The whole reason you seen Case any at the end of the season was because of Mack, and if Harsin has it his way Case will not play at all.

I have updated in what I think are our realistic possibilities since were are nearly at our limit. Anybody that knows any additions or deletions please let me know. We have lost WR Thomas Johnson so we now have 24 verbals.

As of today (January 14, 2012 at 4:40 P. M) the update is as follows:

1. QB Connor Brewer of Arizona
2. LB Alex De La Torre of Denton Ryan
3. DT Alex Norman of Dallas Bishop
4. ATH Orlando Thomas of Copperas Cove
5. OL Curtis Riser of Desoto
6. DE Hassan Ridgeway of Mansfield (Recruited also as a TE)
7. CB Byson Echols of DeSoto
8. LB Peter Jinkens of Dallas
9. DE Caleb Bluiett of Beaumont
10. DT Paul Boyette Jr. of Humble
11. OT Camrhon Hughes of Harker Heights
12. WR Cayleb Jones of Austin High
13. DT Malcom Brown of Brenham
14. LB Timothy Cole of Brenham
15. RB Johnathan Gray of Aledo
16. OL Kennedy Estelle of Pearland Dawson
17. K Nick Jordan of Coppell HS
18. ATH Jalen Overstreet of Tatum
19. ATH Kendall Sanders of Athens
20. WR Marcus Johnson of Clear Springs
21. OL Donald Hawkins of Mississippi (a Junior College Transfer)
22. DT Brandon Moore of Mississippi (a Junior College Transfer)
23. DB Kevin Vaccaro of Brownwood
24. ATH Adrian Colbert of Mineral Wells (will probably be a DB)

We have 1 realistic In State Offers and 1 as Out of State Offers for a total of 2 outstanding offers.

The 1 realistic In State offer is as follows:

1. DE Mario Edwards of Denton (committed to Florida State where I think he will go but after the weekend our changes are better but still slighly less than 50%)

The following is the 1 realistic Out of State offer:

1. WR Dorial Green-Beckham of Missouri (I rate our chances as 40%)

Word is out that Mario Edwards Jr. has eliminated UT and it will be between LSU and FSU. I expect it will be FSU. I always had him estimated at less than 50%. I still have the same estimate for DGB.

I have eliminated Edwards since it is most likely he will go to FSU where his father went. His visit to UT went so well and I think he was interested but his Dad who went to FSU may have used some parental influence there.

As of today (January 23, 2012 at 11:40 A. M) the update is as follows:

Verbaled:
1. QB Connor Brewer of Arizona
2. LB Alex De La Torre of Denton Ryan
3. DT Alex Norman of Dallas Bishop
4. ATH Orlando Thomas of Copperas Cove
5. OL Curtis Riser of Desoto

We have 1 realistic In State Offers and 1 as Out of State Offers for a total of 2 outstanding offers.

The 1 realistic In State offer is as follows:

1. LB Dalton Santos of Van (committed to Tennessee but is scheduled to visit this weekend and I think we have a 75% chance of him deciding to come to Texas).

The following is the 1 realistic Out of State offer:

1. WR Dorial Green-Beckham of Missouri (I rate our chances as 30%)

We have had very little success overall with out of staters but some are still too good to not take a chance on. Still I prefer Texas players who really want to come here. National Signing Date is on Feb. 1 so this will basically be over very soon and we will start thinking about the 2013 class.

Daje Johnson is expected to get an offer and is taking and official visit this weekend. Expected to flip from TCU to Texas.

Dalton Santos is expected to take an official visit this weekend and already has an offer. He is expected to flip from Tennessee to Texas.

Bryce Cottrel is a DE/OLB who has an offer and is deciding if he will take an official visit or not. He is currently commited to Oregon.

Mack Brown is in Missouri right now visiting with DGB the 6'6" WR out of Missouri.

Oregon had an in home with him last night to try to convince him not to take the visit to Texas, he has decided that he IS going to make the trip down to Austin. From everything I have read I would be surprised if he didn't switch to Texas as well.

From what I can tell on rumors and other web sites and as been already reported is that Daje Johnson and Bryce Cottrell will be offered and will come to UT. Also Dalton Santos has been offered and expected to come here. I rate the chances on each one at 75%. What also helps with Cottrell is that his GF has accepted a scholarship to UT to play soccer (goalie).

WR Dorial Green-Beckham (DGB) will announce on signing day and it is expected to be between UT, Missouri and Arkansas. I give the edge to Arkansas because I have heard that is where his gf is going but Missouri is home. The other factor is that his parents are sold on UT. We will have to see but I still rate our chances as low at 35%.

Basically I think these are our final offers as we await future developments and soon we will be worried about 2013 recruits.

Word is Hassan Ridgeway was at aTm today for his official and was there last weekend as well. Rivals still has him listed as a Texas commit but for how long is anybody's guess.

We'll see about Santos Monday.

Smoaky has on his site that Santos officially committed to Texas.

Santos switches commitment to Texas

Van senior linebacker Dalton Santos, 6-3, 248, 4.63, who has been committed to Tennessee since early August, switched his commitment to Texas on Sunday.

Santos took a weekend visit to Austin and pulled the trigger. Santos father, Albert told Smoaky.com, "He is extremely proud to be a Longhorn and vows to make his family and hometown of Van, Texas proud too."

Santos finished his senior year with 101-Tackles, 19-TFL, 3-Sacks, 1-Interception, 3-Caused Fumbles and 3-Fumble Recoveries including one for a touchdown.

Santos also scored 17-TD's rushing on offense.

I would like to get him and we would probably just have enough room but it would cut into our 2013 recruits which is going to be a small class most likely in the 15 to 20 range and I would go about 17.

Part of the reason johnson decommited was due to coaches finding out of flenory connection.

Call off the pitchforks, good Lord. I merely offered that as an example. The purpose of the post was that I deplore seeing the integrity of a high school student questioned because they either open up their recruitment or start looking around. Myriads of things can happen. Kids move, parents split, girlfriends get into the other school, and so on, and so on. In Ridgeway's case, he is not originally from Texas and didn't grow up with a particular interest in them or A&M. He could have very well taken it upon himself to see A&M's depth chart and switch to 4-3 next year and decided it was work a look. Thomas Johnson probably saw Cayleb Jones, Kendall Sanders, and Daje Johnson and looked at A&M, Oregon, and TCU and seen enough to warrant a decommit in his mind. Folks, I see it from both sides and it makes me sick. Some on Texags claim Malcom Brown, the 5 star DT from Brenham was shadily given a boatload of money to commit to Texas, and it rubs about 95% of the posters there wrong, and their mods don't appreciate it either. So I when I see somebody on here insinuating illegal benefits are being given to a kid just because he wants to look around, it bugs me just as bad.

Literally the first time I have ever heard this, and tbh sounds ridiculous! So why didn't his teammate who committed to Texas as well get any cash? Why haven't they given DGB any cash to wrap up his commitment? :thmbdwn:

It is stated fact texas turned in lyles to ncaa over lache seastrunk deal. texas and oklahoma are working together to try and get the street agents out of Texas. The kids aren't the ones getting the benefits it is the agent manipulating the kid to a certain school that are getting the benefits. Now that lyles has been outted flenory seems to have taken center stage.

Present evidence. A&M's recruiting budget is a joke. Half the posters wish we were a quarter as dirty as some of the programs out there.

As for the thing about MB in your previous post, that is why I said that SOME posters on TexAgs have taken the idea and run with it. Probably the same idiot that started the thunderdome blog thing about Jon Gray's parents. I also said 95% of the posters plus staff ridicule them for even mentioning it. If you really knew what a "typical Aggie" was, you wouldn't say that. Now typical whiny Aggie internet fan...........you are warming up.

Bottom line: I don't care if it is A&M/UT or any other schools out there. Throwing out baseless accusations at one's whim is:

li-bel : noun : a written or oral defamatory statement or representation that conveys an unjustly unfavorable impression

Casey, to you in particular, I am not accusing you directly of libel, but taking crap off of Orangebloods, 247, InsideTexas, and the fantake blogs and running with it does nothing to help the situation. Some of those people are absolutely bitter individuals, and I think for every four screennames, there is one poster.

OldBison75
01-30-2012, 11:05 PM
It is amazing how many posters on the TxAgs site and Orangeblood site spend most of their time trying to make each other look bad, or just stirring things up. I have come to the conclusion that there are alot of people that are posters on both boards for no other reason that to stir up crap.

I can tell you that the real Aggie fans, not the T-shirt variety, take most of what they read on the TxAgs site with a grain of salt.

And, the reality of College Football in general is that every school has those "boosters" and "street agents" that try to bypass rules and influence kids and kids families. There is a lot of glass in every recruiting scandal and if I were to give advice, it would be to be very careful what rocks you throw at some other school, because the rock you throw might just bounce right back and bust your window.

None. You know as well as I that Mack does not give offers until Junior Day. Would Mack not snap up those three recruits if they were ready to commit? They are in fact top targets of UT. They are also A&M's top targets, maybe Seals-Jones not so much with Derrick Griffin on board early. I am still waiting on you to provide the A&M to Lyles or Flenory connection. Last I saw, a former A&M coach now at OSU said that he was contacted by Lyles with an asking price for a recruit and he reported the call up the chain of command.

There is a tone of information out there, but I am sure none of it is "legit" enough for you to accept.

Mack does give out offers before Junior Day, just ask Conner Brewer.

Well, for starters, neither of the links you provided, which I read long ago, are "legit" in linking Will Lyles or Baron Flenory or any other "street agent" to Texas A&M Football. According to Van Malone, who was a Oklahoma State during an interview last year, Lyles supposedly called A&M (see a few posts ago) claiming that Peterson's asking price was $80K if I remember correctly. Van said he could not believe the audacity of the call and reported it to Franchione, who was of course on his way out anyhow. Obviously enough, Patrick Peterson (Johnson at that time) didn't take an official to A&M. As for Martellus Bennett and Michael Goodson, to this day there is no proof or evidence of any improprieties by Texas A&M in their recruitment, which was by the way, two whole coaching staff changes and 6 years ago. Any smoke there is simply implied by the circumstance of them being acquaintances with Lyles, who at that time was not exactly known as a street agent.

Next. Or can we just agree to disagree. There are really no hard feelings here, but as you defend your program, I shall defend mine.

Exactly. Looking like Raulerson, Brett Wade, J.T. Barrett (probably over Swoopes), A'Shawn Robinson, JaBraylin Thomas, and the big OT from Shreveport Evangel may be some of the first. Who am I missing, as I am not full into 2013 mode yet.

Notice how the Aggie thread isn't good enough for them so they have to "contribute" to the Texas thread?

It's just a few hours before National Signing Day (2-1-12) so lets start concentrating on who we get signed rather than who we lost and this is a good idea for the Aggie Thread as well as others that may come. The 2012 class has had their year since after Signing Day last year but tomorrow it concludes and this should be their day. Then we can worry about the 2012 class starting day after tomorrow. So let's wait till the letter of intents (LOIs) are in and be happy with the ones that are coming and not worry about who we lost.

Why would I want to read an Aggie thread? The Aggies are irrelevant now. Texas has beat out aTm 16-0 when offering the same recruit thus far, plus they are going to the SEC so  .

Six of the 2012 verbals have enrolled and signed and are Conner Brewer, Alex De La Torre, Donald Hawkins, Camhron Hugh, Brandon Moore and Orlando Thomas. That is six and out of the total 27 that leaves 21 to wait for.

No doubt in my mind he signs, you should have seen some of his tweets last night lol, he is supposed to officially send his in at 9:30. Some posters on Tigerdroppings.com are saying Davis signed with LSU but who really knows right now. He is supposed to announce at 10:30 so we will see one way or the other shortly.

What a great last minute surprise in getting DE Torshiro Davis of La who switched from LSU! Welcome to Austin Mr. Davis! This is a hugh one and one I think everyone was caught off guard and his LOI is in. This may not catch us up with Alabama in the class rankings but it sure makes the cap much closer. I am so happy.
