Please say a prayer for my mother...

My mom started to become violently ill last Friday. After staying at the Beeville hospital this weekend with no prognosis(not much staff there), she was transferred to Corpus Christi Shoreline where they will perform an emergency surgery today to clear an intestinal blockage and associated hernia. Please say a prayer for her as she is very high risk with her diabetes and blood thinners that she takes. Her name is Linda and we very much don't want to lose her.

Compounding the surgery also is they just told her that she had a heart-attack recently, that went un-diagnosed at the Beeville Hospital.

The surgery was a success but she is still on the ventilator, so she is not quite out of the woods, yet.

Since she is in ICU there are only a few hours at certain times a day to visit. Kinda frustrating, but I'll get to see how she is doing soon.

Mom is off the ventilator, thank goodness. She looked about as rough as one could expect and with pain meds working. She has contracted some kind of bug though. The nurse didn't know immediately what it was so we have to wear the gown and mask to see her. I'm hoping it is nothing too bad.
My mom wanted to say thanks to all of you who prayed for her. I know your thoughts and prayers helped her pull through this. Thank you again.
I'll update more as we find out how her recovery is progressing. :)

This is the first I have seen this, sorry. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. You will all be in my prayers. So glad she made it thru surgery and is off the vent. I am sure they are using vancomycin for the infection and it is good stuff. A son loves his mother like no other--and vice versa--so keep the faith and we in the 3ADL family will keep praying from all over TX. Give Linda my best and you hang on. Prayer got her thru the surgery and it is the most powerful thing we have. Lots of 'em your way!

Mom is out of ICU and recovering at Spohn Shoreline Hospital. The bug she has is an upper respiratory staph infection. The hospital took her off of antibiotics yesterday, so that is a good sign. She is in good spirits.
She wanted to Thank All of You for keeping her in your Prayers. I want to thank you, too.
I made a pact tonight to take her to San Antonio with her sons, daughter-in-law and grandchildren to "tear up San Antonio" in six months. She is game.
We don't know anything about her heart attack but heck we're gonna aim high here. God Bless you Good People for helping to pull her(and us) out of this terrible time.:) :) :)
