The track that Smithville was on the last couple of years would have led to a competitive program. I don't know if the train derailed or the track builders ran out of steel track, but the train has stopped going up and is quickly rolling back into the valley.

Yeah I think that post was the equivalent of drunk texting your ex-gf and passionately explaining how you feel.

well game one against lexington nobody showed up. game 2 against wharton the offense showed up and the d fense was M.I.A , ya probaly no way they can stop the texans RB from a 150+ night unless they pull him. they may be able to put up a few scores but maybe just maybe they can put if together on both sides and give the texans one hell of a shot, idk i go with 52-17 texans. and im perty sure its there homecoming to ???

Same here. He doesn't trash talk
either. He just has high hopes for his
team. So what if he has bad
grammar. That's no reason to bash
him for it in my opinion.

and as far as the grammer, ya i didnt know that a msg board was the writing part of the tacks test. I just type, and post, but you clearly got the point i was trying to get across. This team is not as bad as that 60-0 smashing lexington gave them. They have fight in them, i mean coming back and playing a thrilling 42-41 game in a loosing effort against a not to bad wharton team should show the massive improvement made from week 1 to 2. 59 point diff from the previous week to be exact. From here on out smithville will be out maned size, number, and speed wise to every team they play. This coaching staff wont let this team quit, and has been preparing them for this uphill battle, so i expect more improvements to be made week to week. Getting a win is going to be realy realy tough with the games left the tigers got to play. As long as they play hard and with emotion, and never quit on the field, they will have no compaints here.

All kidding aside, one thing CAN be said about Smithville athletics.

Over the last 5 or 6 years they have always shown class and dignity, win or lose. This comes from the top....parents, coaches and teachers do a great job there. They always give it their best and looking back at the district alignments Smithville has been in over the last 5-6 years that says a lot.

It's easy to show class when your program is a success, even though some places don't seem to be able to to that.

Personally, I have a lot of admiration for the Smithville athletes, parents, coaches and supporters and their comittment to representing their school and community. This is what I've always seen from Smithville in any event.

Except when kids used to stand out in the street and throw rocks at our bus when we would go there to play them in te late 80's lol. I'm sure that it's not the same now. Hearne used to do the same thing, but it probably hasn't changed much there. We used to have to have police escorts take us in and out of there. We were just happy to get out of town with our lives lol.
