Jason how would you describe the game? Well-played? Sloppy?

Wylie secondary getting picked apart. Sville had 2 long td passes called back for holding then threw a pass to 1 yd line all in last drive. Wylie looks winded.

It's halftime. 24-14

Wylie on offense is holding their own, but the D is having trouble keeping up with S-ville in the secondary. S-Ville also dropped a pass in the EZ when the got their field goal.

Good clean game by both sides, it will be interesting to see what adjustments wylie makes to help the secondary. It appears they are playing man to help out on running plays.

Sville pulling away. Wylie can't stop them. Wylie needs a score on this possession or it's over.

We were going to leave after last sv td but decided to watch one mire Wylie series and a kid broke loose for a 40 yd td run.

I just waved to ccmom from the stands. Don't think she saw me.

Overall good game by both. 2 plays hurt wylie, the pick 6 and the long td before half. Both teams appeared to play well, I know wylie will be a better team after this game. Good luck to stephenville the rest of the year.

With a few more non-district games wylie will be ready for district and hopefully a long run in the playoffs.

Jason, maybe I could have waved at you if I wasn't defending myself from the attack of the killer crickets!! YUCK! Where the heck did that many crickets come from? Sorry...carry on with the football talk....I had to throw that in.

I thought we were going to put it on them towards the end of the 3rd qtr. That was a hard fought victory. They made us earn it that is for sure. Wylie played hard all the way to the last second. Man there were some licks laid out there tonight. That is one of the hardest hitting games I have watched in a while.

Execution in the redzone needs to improve. I thought we would be farther along with our execution with so many starters returning. Blake Barnes had a great night going 4-4 on FGs but we need to finish drives. We score TDs there instead of FGs and this game is over by the 4th. But I also got to give credit to Wylie's defense for forcing us to kick FGs. We need to catch the ball better. We looked like a top 5 team in the 2nd and 3rd qtr but not so much in the 1st and 4th qtr. Elite teams are consistent. We are not there yet.

Stephenville is not a top 10 team right now. Neither is AW.

why does AW make their RB squat so low? How does anyone think that is a good gameplan?

Well, I could have sworn I saw a "Stephenville is going to crush Brownwood" thread this morning, but I guess you guys got a little too frisky and it had to go bye bye.

Anyway, congrats to Stephenville for the win...but youth and inexperience (and the mental mistakes that come with it) on the Bulldogs side along with S-ville having a good fieldgoal kicker was the difference in this game. Consider that the highly touted Myles had 136 yards with 24 carries and Wylies Nasser had 136 yards with only 14 touches...and both busted off long runs for touchdowns. If Brownwood is half as good as they say they are....then they take down S-ville by a couple of scores at home.

Stephenville physically whipped Wylie at all 11 positions on the field. At the end of every play there were at least two Wylie kids laying on the turf slow to get up. Jackets were typical Stephenville team that straps them on and beats the crap out of you. Fun to watch. I was impressed by a lot of things Wylie did and am glad they had a game like this to get ready for those douchewood wussies later in the year.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Wylie's Kelvin James. He suffered a leg fracture last night and is out for the season.

As for the later part of your post, Wylie's coaching staff is pretty green, so maybe they could use some pointers from someone with experience and wisdom. That's what all of us are good for, right? :D

Will be sorely missed. Starting corner and deep return man. We had major issues with returns after he went down (I don't think we cleanly fielded a single one?). The coaching staff will fix that. He hurt S'ville with a nifty reverse on the first offensive play and had a couple a very nice returns for good yardage. Kid was fearless... He is a Junior--he'll be back.
