Sweetwater's secondary looked like statues...the pass would go up and the DBs would freeze. Its like Monahans game plan was to get into 2nd a long and 3rd and long just so they could pass

I dont really know any of the players names but they found the weakest link in one of the CBs and made him their whipping boy. It was my wifes first time to see a SHS game and I was sad it had to be that experience

They do that against Ward and Taylor, it could get ugly real quick. That's if the defense can stop the run.

They looked pretty good for the most part against the run, while I was there(I left just a little bit after the 3rd quarter started. Like I said the Stangs D looked pretty decent on 1st down and 2nd and short for the most part but its when they had to defend the pass when they got hurt.

They've always defended the run well. Back in the day they defended the pass also. I remember back in the '90's there was a young man named Williams who was about 6'-6" who not only could defend the pass but could kick a 50 yard FG. We'll have to wait and see what happens in Oct.

Dont lose heart fellas, we've known all along they are still a year away. This is just one of those growing pains along the way. I'm afraid we will have several more before this season is over, so dont put too much stock in any of them. This season has to be played out, and the lessons learned that will come along with it. Let's just keep supporting them, and keep an eye on the prize at the end. It'll happen! Just not as soon as some had hoped. Just gotta be patient till it all comes together in it's own time. Keep the faith.
