From the perspective of value, absolutely. But it appears that the Cowboys were determined to go with younger guys at WR (Ogletree namely), and rather than release him as he had requested and watch him end up in the NFC East, they sent him somewhere where he can't come back to bite them unless it's in the Super Bowl and got something rather than nothing.

Not trying to defend the move; but once the Cowboys determined to move on without him, you can see the logic in it.
