Midland area posters

I have a picture of the Midland High football team from around 1927. My grandfather was on the team and he graduated in 1929.

My question: When did Midland High start playing football? It is a neat picture of the entire team on the school steps with one man in a cap and another man in a Cowboy hat. The players are all wearing leather helments.
