JUDGE CHANGES MIND, ACCEPTS PARR PLEA DEAL 2010-08-31
(WACO) After rejecting a plea deal in July between prosecutors and former La Vega High School running back Christopher Dantae Parr, State District Judge Ralph Strother had a change of heart Monday and accepted Parr’s guilty plea to burglary of a habitation and sentenced Parr to five years adjudicated probation.
That means that if Parr complies with the terms of probation, the conviction will be erased from his record.
Parr originally pleaded guilty in May, but withdrew the plea after Strother rejected the plea deal earlier this summer.
Parr was arrested in January 2009 at school in connection with an apartment burglary in the 800 block of Rambler in Waco in which shoes, jewelry, electronics and a pistol were taken.
Strother said Monday several factors were involved in his decision to accept the plea deal.
He said he talked with both the prosecution and defense about the case.
Parr, he said, had returned the stolen items and the victim declined to press charges. Strother also said Parr is now enrolled in a community college.
In 2008, Parr was charged in connection with the armed hold-up of Lonnie Sawyer, 19, who told police he was robbed around 10:40 p.m. on Aug. 23, 2008 in the 5200 block of Concord Road in Bellmead.
In November 2008 the McLennan County District Attorney`s Office said the criminal complaint against Parr was dropped after the teenager passed a polygraph test.
Parr did not play during the regular season in 2008, but did take the field in four playoff games including La Vega`s state title game loss to Prosper.

This is BS. Put his butt in jail. Although 5 years of probation is quite a while...so im guessing this is his last chance? Don't see him making it though personally
