On the thread for the Tuloso Midway/Ingleside game there is some discussion about varsity players from Ingleside being suspended for "hazing". I just spoke to Coach Hesseltine myself. He said there were not any suspensions. The boys involved have been punished and the scrimmage with Victoria East was cancelled due to the incident. The junior varsity game has not been cancelled because Ingleside has not had a JV for a couple of years. We only have freshmen and varsity teams. He said the incident was very minor. A couple of boys were going around town and paddling freshmen when they could catch them. This should stop any rumors that might appear on the DownLow.

If you are open ZERO week you can schedule a 3rd scrimmage. Just not many teams do that . Navarro di it with halletsville about 5 yrs ago.

Dates (2010-2011)
4A and 5A Schools Without Spring Training, 3A, 2A, 1A-11-man, 1A-Six-man
August 2 First day of conditioning

(No contact activities permitted. No contact equipment except

helmets may be worn.)

August 6 First day of contact

August 14 First scrimmage

August 19 Second scrimmage

August 24 Third scrimmage

(Schools opting for a third scrimmage shall not play on zero

date)

Thank you for the info. Ingleside was open week 0 so I guess that is why they had a third scrimmage scheduled.

I am sure Coach G handled it properly. This can't be taken likely because an inexperienced paddler could cause some serious injuries.
