Wow! Just goes to show that this early in the season, those at the top STILL have to earn it. LL may be back. One thing is for sure, Gilmer is going to surprise most people across this great state. RELOAD is not just a motivation in Gilmer, it is fact. "MiniBus" Johnson was a monster against Atlanta and if he stays healthy, may just be 3A Player of the Year!

If it is a HAS then it could affect him the rest of the season. Means was not their only injury, MLB broke his thumb and is in a complete arm cast, center went out also and no word as to what his injury is.

Quinlan beat a really stout Mineola team 27 to 17 in their opener. That should count for something!

Lake Travis might just have the most difficult non-district schedule in the state. Anyone else have 2 top 5 teams scheduled for non-district?

You are giving the game to Brownwood? Ive learned this about the Ville over the years, first, when its Brownwood and Stephenville, anything can and usually does happen. Second, dont count them out against anyone.

in my opinion, the most winnable game of their first five is vs abilene wylie...thats no knock on wylie, but thats just how good the other 4 teams they're playing are...

Stephenville is loaded with all the returning starters from last years team. Once they get their timing down and pass blocking sharpened, they'll be contenders for another deep playoff run. But you can't correct those things overnight or even in 2-3 weeks sometimes. Stephenville needs to stick to the run. Their passing game is below average.

Aledo, Brownwood, Hebron, and Horn are all very good teams that are all ahead of the curve at this point.

i have huge respect for kirbyville and their football tradition (they have laid some KILLER beatings on us in the past) and i only know of this years team what i saw of them last friday, but final stats had us almost dead even in total yards, first downs. we had two turnovers DEEP in our end that accounted for very short scoring trips for kirbyville. all this with a QB for us brand new at the position at varsity. so either kirbyville might be overranked at 11 in state or we should be higher......i'm thinking the former.....i definitely didn't see a team in kirbyville like the team we played last year in WOS.....
