The local paper says Nasser had 95yds rushing and 67yds receiving, but who knows how accurate that is considering the article also says he scored 2 TDs, but I'm pretty sure Martin scored 2 and Nasser score one. So, after watching Saturday's game, how good do you think Wylie is? La Vernia is supposed to be down a bit from last year's 7-4 season. On that note, what is your opinion on La Vernia after watching the game?

:) Wylie offense doesn't quite have the quick strike firepower of last year, and the new QB needs a couple more games to get his timing and confidence up. The defense is solid as usual, but we'll see where they really rank next week agains't S-ville's stud RB. LaVernia has a good team that should get better as the season progresses..and the coaches will probably spend some time on red zone offense this week.;)

Thanks. I thought the same. I was impressed with the hitting on both sides. Wylie executed pretty well for the first game considering all the new starters.

The game was much closer than the score indicates. La Vernia missed several opportunities that would have made this a closer game. Good luck to La Vernia with the rest of your season and hope to play you again in Belton next year.
