Celina 62 Ranchview 14 final

Celina couldnt be stopped on offense. I bet they had close to 400 yard rushing. Ranchview busted two long runs early on an over excited Celina defense. After those scores they had 2 first downs and were probably around 5-10 yard of offense. It got ugly after the first 6 minutes...

This years team is already way better than last years. I think this could be a big year in Celina

I agree 100% the oline is dominating the dlines the backs are running like wild men the defense is swarming to the ball, but most of all the entire team is on the same page. I think this could be the best oline Celina has had in a long time. If they and the team can stay healthy this team has the brass tacks to win a title.

Not ready to go that far...

The next two weeks will clarify alot for me, Ranchview has to play what looks to be a pretty good Prosper team after what they did last night and then face another "Celina like" defense in Aubrey the week after that. The outcomes of those games will tell me alot about whether we are better this year or if Ranchview is just way over-matched against Collin County teams.

Celina faces two pretty potent offenses in Prestonwood and Pilot Point which both put up big numbers last night. Prestonwood put up 529 yds of offense with 180 in the air and completed 81% of their passes even after losing the starting QB who left the field in the first half in an inflatable cast. Pilot Point put up 450 yds with 320 through the air. Ranchview only threw 5 passes completing 3 for 8 yds. Not much of a test for the secondary.

Offense looked good and stands to get better when Brummy and Roos return. Brummy may be back in 3 more weeks and Roos by district. We are deep on O and after watching the RB's last night I think that their are 4-5 that are interchangable. Jacob can throw and makes very good decisions. He gets great pass protection and will not force the ball. If I had to critique the O in any way is that we just need to catch better. Jacob was 8-14 and should have been 12-14 if we concentrate.

Defense might struggle against speed and needs everyone to be where they are suppose to be to succeed. After they settled down the shut down what is a very athletic Ranchview and held them to 3 first downs and about 60 yards of O after the track meet that was the first 4 series was over. Tanner will be back in 2 weeks just in time to put some pressure on the Pilot Point passing attack, PP threw 3 picks this week and pressure seems to be the key. Tanner is the fastest d-lineman and against the pass and that will help a ton.

Injuries seem minor and should not effect anyone this week.

I am cautiously optimistic.

Good assessment gator the next two weeks will be a big test for Celina. I think most people would agree that Prestonwood like TCA can play with any 3a team and beat most if not all of them so Celina has their work cut out for them, but I believe if they play like they did last night I think another W will be added this year.

Gator-I agree that the next 2 weeks will be tests for Celina but I meant compared to the beginning of last year to the beginning of this year the team is much better. I think Ranchview was on par with Ferris and we dominated them. I think we will know more about this team after next week and the PP game but so far so good.

And I heard Roos will probably be back the week we play Melissa and Tanner should start practicing again on monday.

Ferris beat Kennendale last year and we know how that turned out for us, not so much for Ranchview they were 3-6. I am not sold yet that we are better.
