Really cool story about one of my favorite stadiums in the state...Farrington has the potential to be one of the real unique places to play in the state...an old school stadium in the middle of the city...I am excited to hear about the renovations taking place over the next 2 years....this stadium could be a great place for big playoff games as it holds 18,000 and is right next to downtown Ft Worth...what an awesome venue this could be if FWISD does this right.
Check out the photo gallery also, I love that old school photo!

Real grass would keep the old time look to it.

It would, but because of the location near the river the water table is high...so any kind of rain and it the field gets destroyed quick.....

Glad to hear they are fixing up the place, it's cool because it's old and feels historical, but it was a dump. I remember the concrete was chipping away from the walk going up the stands.

It's been in dire needs of repairs for a while....hoping they do it right because its a potential gem if its fixed up

Wouldn't that prevent an artificial field as well? That's the problem Sherman has -- the field lies in a flood plain and therefore they can't get insurance on a turf field.

Sherman and Denison need to go in together and build a new stadium.

Will never happen. Neither side wants to give up the home field advantage in the Battle of the Axe. Besides, when the new 6A goes in effect, Sherman will be 5A and Denison will be 4A, and that would just create a scheduling headache.

I do agree, both places need a major overhaul if not a whole new stadium. The new grass at Sherman, by the way, looks great.
