Got no response. Just bumping this back to the top.I was trying to find this the other night, so I could tell you what little I know. My son's on 7th A and they were undefeated, but our game against Wimberley was cancelled. Wimberley was undefeated as well. I don't know if this counts as a forfeit on us; if so, them Wimberley 1st, LH 2nd; if not, tie for 1st between Wimberley & LH.

9th grade - Burnet was district champs.

Just to set the record straight.

Wimberley 7th 9-0 District Champs They count the LH game as a loss because they cancelled the game and did not want to bring teams to Wimberley to play.

Wimberley 8th 8-0-1 District Champs

Liberty Hill Freshmen 9-1 District Champs

Wimberley JV 7-3 District Champs

Would have been nice to see the LH vs Wimberley 7th grade teams play. Wimberley 7th is very good group ( together thru 4 years of playing together they have lost only 2 games 33-2) They played in a league that took in 14 different communities in Central Texas. TEXAN PRIDE GO BIG BLUE

Are you saying the Burnet freshmen went undefeated and didn't win the district championship? I hope not.

Texan, you need to recalulate. Burnet Fish were 10-0, and beat LH........so LH didn't win district , Burnet did.

Is this bunch capable of equalling the Slaughter/Meeks/Bertelsen/Polanco twins (I'm leaving lots of good kids out) group that had the nice two year run? I had the pleasure of covering that group for the San Marcos newspaper, and they were an amazing group of kids.

Wimberley's JV is District Champs because they go head to head. If Llano had the same record, then it would be different. But since there were only 2 teams tied, the tied breaker is HEAD-to-HEAD.

And about the LH/Wimberley 7th Grade controversy; The game was CANCELLED not forfeited. THUS, the game doesn't count and both teams finish 9-0, hence CO-champs.

I stand corrected

Burnet Freshmen 10-0 district champs

I was thinking of the JV at the time.
Yes Burnet and Wimberley JV's were 4-1 in district but Wimberley beat Burnet with ease SOOOO

Wimberley JV not co champs But... DISTRICT CHAMPS

to answer your question YES
they have a QB who is outstanding

Big, Fast, and can throw the ball
Offensive and defensive linemen who are big, fast and physical.
Did I mention thier QB?
He has the potential to be the best Wimberley has ever had

Good luck to LH, not that you will need it against Marion. They are not very good. Yalls running game should roll right over them with ease. We played them earlier this year and won 59-6 or something like that. Does your son play B-Ball for LH 7th?

LH Panther Mom
11-09-2003, 09:22 PM
Yes, he plans to play b-ball and track. He doesn't really want to run track, but I told him he didn't get to pick until h.s. - he got the same deal big brother got....and younger brother, when he gets old enough.

Texan007
11-09-2003, 09:32 PM
Good then we will be looking for yall in B-Ball.
Hopefully none of the games will be cancelled. Will yall have a good B-Ball team?

LH Panther Mom
11-09-2003, 09:40 PM
Well, it's hard to truly say since they haven't started practice yet and I'm not even sure who all will be playing. The majority of the kids have been playing Little Dribblers since kindergarten and we've got some good talent, so right now, I'd say we'll probably be pretty decent. It's not 7th grade, but is Coach White still at Wimberley? He lived across the street from us when they were here & his boys used to play b-ball in our driveway with my oldest.

Texan007
11-09-2003, 09:47 PM
Yes he is still here and glad to have him. I think his boys will be seniors this year. We had 31 kids come out for 7th. We played tournement ball last 2 yrs with our 7th boys so they played alot of games together and are ready. Good luck see you in B Ball

Did Wimberley's JV really lose to Llano's JV? I had heard that the Wimberley JV was undefeated.

PAINTBALL
11-12-2003, 08:16 PM
Burnet's newspaper has Wimberley's J.V. losing to both Llano and Ingram. I guess it must be wrong based on the post here claiming a 4-1 district record.
