All I know is, I've seen many teams with twice the talent, and twice the speed, leave the stadium with an L hung on em, after facing off with Wylie. You gotta admire what they have over there. But even so, I must admit, I've seen more than a few generous calls go their way down through the years, thats helped secure some of those Ws. But the biggest reason by far for most of those wins, is the strong discipline they play with. You seldom see their players out of position, making dumb mistakes, or having to chase plays down from behind.

Thanks Stang. Of course, we know you're only saying that because you know we know what you look like. :D

What was the score the last time Brownwood played Cleburne? Yeah. Shut up. How's that for recent?

I can't believe this thread went so many posts before someone nailed it....and a Sweetwater poster no less!

edit- In case anyone is still wondering...Wylie doesn't win because they always have the biggest, strongest, fastest players on the field.

I agree. We didn't have a full offseason program in place last year. THIS YEAR, we do. :)

What! The might Brownwood Lions did not have a full offseason last year? I bet I can find several posts that state otherwise!:D

And may I add, Mr. Bullaholic, that he GRADUATED FROM WYLIE HIGH SCHOOL! Without Wylie High there might not have been any Championships!:D

You know I respect Coach Wood and all the he was able to accomplish.

However that being said, Brownwood hasn't won a State Championship in 29 years. Accomplish something a little more recent and then get back to me.

I remember when Cleburne was beating (owned) Brownwood in the 80's (both on the field and in the recruiting wars). And you still haven't quit recruiting. At least make it not so obvious, have the families at least claim or even move to Brownwood instead of still living in __________ (Bangs, Early, Goldthwaite, Zephyr, Commanche, Brady, the 4 corners of the earth, etc.)

Gordon Wood went to Wylie so he could learn how to win.
