View Full Version : Inflatable Run Through Contraptions question

I'm pretty old school and sure hope I never see the Gobblers run out of one of these contraptions. Guess if we did it would have to be out of the hind end of huge turkey. Don't think that would do a lot to fire up our guys.

Does your team have one, and if so does it REALLY do much to motivate the boys?? Nothing personal if you do, just wonderin.

Yes. I don't know about the varsity players but the little kids sure get fired up for it.

Yes and yes... The kids seem to come out with alot more intensity, but by the time all of the other essentials are done I doubt it has any effect on their play.

WildGobberCat - I don't know if you remember my signature from last season - but it was
"We don't need no stinking blowup thing" :D no disrespect to those that do - just something I don't think we'll ever see in Cuero.. Give me the OLD SCHOOL painted run-through sign anyday. ;)

Or you can be like Forney and have a blow up thing, then further downfield a sign :D

then at half time either another sign, or our break away sign :D

We have one. I can't speak for the players, but my 5-year-old nephew thinks it's pretty awesome.

Brownwood has one and a vinyl sign. The inflatable is only used on road games. :D

Sweeny has an inflatable tunnel. We use it everywhere. The kids look pretty pumped up.

Wylie has the bulldog helmet and the fog machine...fans enjoy it, and the players like to get it rocking back and forth before busting through the face guard. Btw...all inflatables aren't created equal. Anyone else get a laugh from LaVega's squatting pirate?:eek: :D

We have a simple tunnel, no helmet attached. I prefer the old school run through signs, but oh well.

La Vega has a giant inflatable pirate and it looks like he is taking a dump on the players as they run out.

Edna ( I know we are 2A now) has one and I think it gets our kids fired up to come out of compared to no tunnel. A few years ago they put it up in the attic when they were on their losing streak because they felt the tunnel was the issue. (lol) I am actually down there helping set up the tunnel and I will say it gets me fired up when the kids get in there jumping around and hollering so I like it and think it works for us.

We got one the year after I graduated of course with the money we brought in...but I digress lol for some of the guys its probably cool, but to me its not really any different than gettin fired up behind the sign and then bustin through after somebody starts gettin it crunk...





also it lacks creativity, but I guess its saving trees???

I remember seeing that "pirate" at the LaVega game last year. My 9-year-old daughter started laughing, and I asked her what was so funny. She said, "Why are those players running out of a constipated pirate?" Hahaha.... It was hilarious!:D

Glen Rose gonna be decent this year? i drove from stephenville and watched them in 2008, they weren't too great then

I think we could match that or beat it depending on how fast our younger players progress. It will be a good test this friday. We will know more then.

Oh, goodie! My whole family will get a good laugh out of that! The Bullard Panthers have one that looks like a constipated rat......we got a good laugh out of that one, too.:D What can I say.......it's cheap entertainment.
