Well, well, well...

Looky what we have here.

The #1 Preseason AP Ranking? Brownwood? Hmmm...

I don't think Wylie has ever held it. Then again I haven't given a crap about 3A until 2009, so I don't really care.

Brownwood above Celina?

Then Celina over Gilmer?

Haaaa Haaaa! Press people.

At least they put Cuero in their standard #4 position. Perhaps da Gobblas will continue their streak of runner-up trophies?

Yeah ya wonder what the feed these guys. I think Celina in the top 6 is ok but Gilmer should be in the top 5 unless the town died or something. And how do you figure BW at number one. They will be good offensively but still have not proven they can play defense to me. AW can sure play some D.

AW lost 18 starters off of last year's team. LOL So you really have no idea what they can do THIS year.

Our defense will be VERY good. We have some great athletes on both sides of the ball and some great move ins that will really beef us up.

Get ready,.

Man oh man, we can relate to the "assuming we are healthy" qualifier. We have lost 3 of our starters already, and very important starters too. It has taken a bit of the wind out of our sails, so we need to regroup and get busy filling these holes. Our coaches will make the best of it, I am sure...but I can relate to Brownwoods experience last year...one dropping after another...all you can do is hope for the best.

What 3 starters are out and how bad are the injuries. Gotta be honest, sure would love a heathy Brownwood team to get some revenge over a healthy Wimberly team late this year.

The injuries are season ending for all three (or so we are told). One was a totally blown out knee, the other was internal injuries (ruptured spleen, bruised kidneys, broken rib...he was in ICU for a night with internal blood loss they couldnt determine), and a shoulder separation.

The Internal damage was to Blakemore, our all district receiver and "do all" player, including safety. The seperated shoulder was an all district lineman and the knee was our best defensive player from last year, linebacker.

Sorry for the loss of player to the Wimberly fans, even more sorry for the kids that dont get to play this year. Needless to say, I remember the Blakemore kids. I still wake up in the middle of the night hearing that name over a loud speaker.

I have no idea what round we would meet in, I will take your word for it. I just hope both team make it far this year.... of Course, Brownwood a little farther than yall!

Good and bad news 44....the blown out knee is a senior, the others are juniors. We still have this year to fight the good fight, we haven't "given up" in any way...but the truth still remains...our best team will be fielded next year, when most of the players are seniors. We have known this for a couple of years. We still have the intention of winning it all THIS year...it will just be a bit harder.

Champions find a way to win.

We are holding up a lot better than last year. Last year at this time, Jaxon had broken his collarbone. No injuries that i know of through the first 2 scrimmages. A good offseason can really help against that, but no guarantees.

The best I remember when we played you guys we were very beat up.

of course you know we were on our 4th qb of the season but he had been there a long time and was doing a great job but you guys took out our best defensive play in Henry who was a beast. I think Ratliff our #1 running back was playing injured as was McShan who was the QB that was playing. Seems like also a lineman and one of the recievers got hurt during the game. Your boys must have hit hard. It was a fun game except for the final score.. that part sucked pretty bad!
