Over the years, who do you enjoy watching your team play the most---not necessarily beating---but playing against?

My list for the Bulls....

1. Monahans
2. Graham
3. Argyle
4. Decatur

I always enjoy the Stephenville week even though they have had a huge advantage of the last 25 years, that game is alway a great one to look forward to.

I enjoy Sweetwater. Since I've been around awhile I have seen many hard battles from back in the 4A days. Sweetwater usually plays us tough and clean and the towns are close in size and fan support. Couple that with a game in the Mustang Bowl with Sweetwater in all Red and Brownwood in White.....

Playoff teams that you have played before can also be included in your list. I included Monahans in the Bulls list as both playoff games were classics.

I agree. Wylie/Sweetwater has always been a good HEALTHY rivary with mutual respect between coaches, players, and communities. Gotta love playing in Mustang Bowl (even if you can't pee in the floor anymore).... well, I guess you still can, but there's no trough there to catch it anymore.:D

That's easy. I prefer to watch us play teams we have traditionally dominated like...

Snyder
Brownwood
Monahans
Big Spring
Bridgeport
Andrews
Lamesa
Pecos
SA Lakeview
Lubbock Estacado
Fort Stockton
Midland Greenwood
Decatur

Graham
Seminole
Levelland
Iowa Park

There are more. That's just all I can think of off the top of my head. :D

I enjoyed our two playoff games with Bellville. I enjoyed the first one more than the last one, though. Both were close contests.
I really enjoyed the 2001 championship game against Everman. Got to be my all time favorite.

I found myself rooting for Sinton even though I knew the
outcome.

Pilot Point... for the storied rivalry (we need to even the overall record at some point)
Liberty Hill... to watch their offense (Hopefully I will be able to tell who has the ball)
Prosper...to...well...maybe next re-alignment...
Daingerfield...0 and 3 vs. them all time...maybe they will let us win at least one
Gunter...nah...no way they will play us
Aubrey...to watch mentor vs. mentee
Gainesville...but only if we get to water the field down, not mow the grass so it will be knee high, and hire our own officials to throw the game.
...
and finally,
Brownwood...so we can get it out of the way so I don't have to read a bunch of smack about who is the better team on the 3ADL!

Henderson Lions

Carthage and Henderson are seperated by less than 30 miles. They have been longtime rivals in 3A, 4A, and now back to 3A.

Perusing old threads and came across this one from 2010 and reopened it. Would your lists have changed in the past six years? For WOS I'd put:

1. Giddings -always back and forth
2. Jasper - although they refused to play us this year
3. Silsbee
4. Gilmer - as painful as both matchups were we at least made them sweat
5. PNG -always a classic
6. La Marque -will likely never happen again but there were some battles

Would adore to see Sinton, Cuero, Carthage, Navasota, La Vega and Celina again (with everyone healthy)

Sweetwater--too bad they won't play us anymore...
Brownwood--nuff said
Argyle--to get better you gotta play great teams (hear that Sweetwater?)
Stephenville--just kills those folks when we beat their a**
Graham--too bad did not play this year--a great little rivalry was developing...
Liberty Hill--games are always close and physical, they give your defense a workout

True... but I like our chances. Barring major injuries Wylie doesn't get seriously challenged until probably the third round of the playoffs against Argyle IMHO. We started off shaky the first two games with new starters at every skill position but have improved every week since. This team has the size, speed (rare for us) and depth to be VERY good.

Typical Wylie mindset. This is why you guys never make it to game 16.

This is a great thread to have resurrected, though. It's fun to look back through it and see where things are now.

As a Celina fan, my (current) favorite teams to play are:

1. Argyle -- such a solid program. Great coach, great players, great fans. Always a crowd-pleasing matchup, regardless of outcome.
2. Gilmer -- I enjoy watching their offense, and watching how defensive coordinators plan against it. I also like that they always bring such a big crowd. Makes for a fun environment.
3. ...

There aren't many matchups that feel like they have their own identity anymore. Not many true rivalries for the Bobcats right now, other than Argyle.

Teams I enjoyed playing when I was in HS:

1. Pilot Point -- Used to be one of the best rivalries in the state. I was a sophomore in 2002, when G.A. left us to go back to Pilot Point, and when we played at their place with the streak on the line in the midst of the second coming of the flood. We won 10-0, and it was a struggle. Great game.
2. Prosper -- there was never any love lost between us and the Eagles. Even though we used to beat the snot out of them every single year.
3. Argyle -- only played them once, my senior year in 2004
4. Hamilton -- two good playoff matchups while I was in HS
5. Whitewright -- same thing

Teams I wish Celina would play:

1. Pilot Point -- I know this one is likely not happening for the foreseeable future, but man, my nostalgia for this matchup is strong.
2. Prosper -- With them being a massive school now, they'd likely control this matchup, but it'd be a good pre-district test for the Bobcats most years
3. Any of the traditional Div. I east Texas powers -- great way to get better in pre-district and prepare for the east come playoff time
4. Liberty Hill -- nostalgia
5. China Spring -- nostalgia
