Last season: (5-6, 4-2 in 11-3A); lost to Alvarado in first round of playoffs
Key players: LB/FB Andrew Holder; DB/WR Noel Flores; DB/WR Zach Romero; QB Tyler Carlile
The big picture: Tyler Carlile was the Lions' JV quarterback last year. The rest of the team's skill positions are experienced. The linebacker corps is inexperienced except for Holder, who is a three-year starter and defensive leader. The offensive line also lacks experience; Albert Torres and Louis Salas will need to learn quickly at offensive tackle and guard.
