... actually, I knew exactly what I was trying to catch...

after 30 minutes of failed attempts by my friend, I finally took the rod & reel and gave her about 3 tries... 3rd time's the charm I guess... after about 25 minutes we made friends with this little bloater:

used some twine from nose to tip of the tail and cut that to get a measurement, haven't measured it yet but it's at least at 6' because it's a couple inches longer than I am... the bugger was also a lot wider, his head and body is kinda tilted sideways...

let it catch some rest then we let it go on about its business...

Ha, if I'm ever stranded and can catch an alligator, I'll eat its tail, but chicken is readily available so I'll stick with that ha...

Plus that whole felony deal...

Where did you catch him?

How did you get the hook out of its mouth? I would think that even a reasonably sized shark would be easier to deal with.

Dude, you need to quit fishing with chicken livers and start throwing a real bait!

How'd I get the hook out of its mouth? Easy, the hook was on its side ha... I say in its side, but I don't think the hook went through past the barb to be honest with you, the hook came loose as soon as we got it on the boat...

And no chicken liver, no bait at all... The cork was enough to get a bite...

Oh and in the Navidad below the dam..
