I Personally like Navasota...they could have made the visitor side a little bigger but overall its one of the better ones.

But my all time favorite is Madisonville...... with all the mud and holes.

Sinton's upgrades look unfinished or that's all they planned to do. They added two sections of seating on the home side but one section on the visitor side. Makes it out of wack to me. Plus I thought a new press box was gonna be added. Guess they run out of money. Don't even know if they did anything to the concessions either. That all looks the same to me.

The visitors side was the home side until they built the new home stands. The visitors side stands are bigger than they appear.

Also the swimming pool in the picture has been filled in (we have a new awesome water park across the road). The old swimming pool will be more parking and a nice entrance.

The city is also building a great set of baseball and softball (about 20 total) parks across the road. When it is all complete it is going to be a very nice set up.

It doesn't show the visitors side, the 4 concession stands, the beautiful
entrance that you walk through to get into the stadium. The picture doesn't reveal that everything is new and very clean. It also doesn't show
facilities beside the stadium, workout facilities, beautiful dressing rooms,

I like Sweetwaters, The best thing I ever saw at it was this last year when Monahans played Graham in the second round of the playoffs, it's kind of hard to explain, but basically the Graham players came from up top and walked down from the stands onto the field. Also it's a bowl :D

It's not the only one with history. I'd say GWS has some history of it's own. It's not as old as the Mustang Bowl (built in 1939), but it's not a new stadium either. I think GWS was built in the late 70s.

These two are my personal favorites. Mineral Wells is nice, I've seen it, but it is brand new and doesn't have any history. Some others that do have history are too small. Mustang Bowl and Gordon Wood Stadium both have history and are some of the larger stadiums in 3A. Most likely because they were built in towns that had huge followings even back at the time they were built. They are also all concrete, which I love. I hate sitting in aluminum or wooden bleachers. My main complaint about the Mustang Bowl is it is HOT on that field during early season games.

Van new stadium is one of the nicer 3A around. Picture doesn't show it but there is a great field house, weight room and coaches offices which overlook the field. End zones are red turf which looks real good. Hosted one 4A and I think three 1A playoff games last year.

Would it be possible for the 3ADownlow to present an award to these stadiums mentioned as perhaps "Awards by the State's Largest On-Line High School Football Community"?

It would be great publicity for the 3ADownlow, and maybe sell some space in those football programs???

Just a thought.

The only thing wrong is that Celina outgrew its stadium years ago, even after they expanded the home side and added turf. The field is boxed in and there is no room left to expand.

If you know all the secret parking places, though, parking isn't a problem. ;)

There is a turf field at the new high school (that sits unused because there's no fieldhouse) that eventually will be the new stadium. But there's not enough money yet to build it out. For now, Celina is the only school where the band has its own turf marching field.

Eventually, the visitors side will be enlarged. Also, completing the visitors parking and locker room, adding another concession stand and restroom under the home bleachers are in the future of Rattler Stadium from what I have been told. This would be key if Rattler Stadium wants to host those playoff games that they thought that the stadium would host.

The old stadium was a dump... it was a dump when I was there in the early 90s. I was at the track complex a few months ago... it's pretty much a dump itself (unless you guys have two and I was at the bad one). I haven't been to any of your other facilities, but I was impressed with the new football stadium.

I live in Cleburne.... I like the home stands of the stadium but the visitor side is terrible. Someone told me that the visitor side was supposed to have built the same as the home side, but the depression ended and work stopped (the stadium was one of the public works projects)

The track was fine at Mineral Wells... I was talking about the stands and the restrooms/concessions being kind of below par.

Much love being given to Sweetwater's Mustang
Bowl, and deservedly so, a lot of tradition and you're right on top of the action, but the other Mustang Bowl 2 hrs west of Sweetwater in Andrews has a bigger seating capacity and with the new athletic complex finished in 2006, much nicer. Also the Mustang Bowl in Andrews has fantastic parking on both sides.

Wow...I can only imagine the costs over the years. Safety issues as well, possibly asbestos, heating/cooling, fire suppression, etc. But yes, it looks really unique. I hope to see it someday.

Van Alstyne's new stadium is pretty sharp for a 3A school.

Not bad, but you'll get a nosebleed at the top. They ran out of money building it, so no elevator to the top. And parking is still a bit iffy, especially at big games like against Farmersville.

I've never been to the stadium in Andrews, but I saw the pic on Texasbob... why's it called a bowl?

I like this stadium also it's very nice, but they need a concession stand on the visitors side.
