The Redskins have decided they will not require the services of the former University of Hawaii quarterback. The release was announced August 2.

End of the road for Colt?

"By Matt Mosley

It's with a heavy heart that I note the release of cult-favorite Colt Brennan in Washington. The former Hawaii quarterback won over Skins fans with his daring performance in the 2008 preseason, but we've known for some time that his days with the club were numbered. Brennan suffered a hip injury in last year's preseason and was placed on injured reserve.

He became expendable when the Redskins traded for former second-round draft pick John Beck, who started four games for the woeful '07 Dolphins. That leaves Mike Shanahan with Rex Grossman, Richard Bartel and Beck. Dolphins quarterback guru David Lee tried to work his magic with Beck, but it was obvious that Chad Henne had a brighter future.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the end of the road for Brennan. He's a fiery competitor, but he doesn't appear to have the tools to make it in the league."

The reason the Spread Offense is killing the futures of kids. Not helping Quarterbacks future at all at least. NFL you don't take every snap from shotgun. This will be the first draft class where we'll really see how players can adapt. Bradford, Tebow, and McCoy for that matter ran mainly spread offenses we'll see how they adapt to the NFL.

How many of those Million Yard/Million TD a season Tech QBs are in the NFL?

He relied on the coaches and sideline checks to make those. Tebow will suck because he sucks in general as a pro prospect.

The spread offense is probably giving these kids a chance as it made them look a lot better in college then they really were.
